Alright folks, last night was the opening for Mint Gallery’s “What’s Your Twenty?” art show. We introduced prototype art for Georgios’ Tobacco Cowboy and part one of my designer logo deconstruction project. Thanks to the kids at Mint Gallery for putting on a great show! We grabbed after-show drinks with Ross Martin of Ayy Gurl Studios at Limerick Junction. Check out all the photos here.
Andrew, you owe me a beer!

Shortly after midnight, Shock Cinema took the stage and proceeded to melt our faces. It was awesome to see Destiny, Autry, and crew doing their thing in the ATL again. I finally picked up a copy of their album Our Way is Revenge and swiped a few of their nifty buttons. Click Here for photos of the show.

We’re so excited about hanging out with the fun kids at MINT Gallery this Saturday night [9/29] for the “What’s Your Twenty?” art show. Last month we participated in MINT’s Mixtape show, but they’ve seriously busted their brains to come up with this new show idea. MINT is taking artist submissions from great local artists and they’re selling everything for $20. So you’ll be able to score some killer work for cheap if you come out early. Georgios and I will be submitting some one of a kind pieces as well. So keep an eye out!
MINT Gallery
684 John Wesley Dobbs Ave, Unit B
Atlanta, GA 30312
Open Saturday, September 29th, from 7 — 11pm
Also, congrats to Beep Beep Gallery and Thoughtmarker Blog for getting voted into Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta List.

Seriously, Shock Cinema is my favorite Atlanta band. Well, technically they’re from New York now but they got their start here in the ATL and moved over a year ago. They’ve since been signed to a record label and they’ve recently released an album called Our Way Is Revenge. Pitchfork only gave it a 5.4 but we all know that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Being a film school nerd and noise-junkie, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed their live shows which feature visual remixes of classic horror films. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you have no excuse to miss this event. I have no doubt that their Return to the Dirty Dirty is going to be incredible.

Here’s some quick shots from last night’s Sneaker Pimps Atlanta show. Joe from Ayy Gurl Studios brought his camera along to document our adventure. Along the way, we caught a great set by Clipse, drank free Red Bull vodkas, ran into some Black Eyed Peas wannabes, laughed at some 14 year-old/prep school/hip-hop groupies, peeped Yung Joc hitting on booty dancers, grabbed shots with our favorite bartender, Colleen, over at El Bar, and scarfed some late night Majestic crinkle fries. Peep the photos here.

Here’s a sneak peek of the Bass Not Bombs tee that will be available in the Epidemik Coalition Online Store in a few weeks. This was originally designed for a school project of mine while I was at Portfolio Center, and now we’ve decided to print a run of these tees just to fulfill everyone’s requests. We’re still deciding on the colorways and whether or not we’re going to have Megan Huntz throw some zippers on their fronts. If you’ve got a color suggestion, let’s hear it now.

Here’s a few events that will be taking place in Atlanta during the next few weeks that we highly recommend:
First off, our good friend & Creative Circus rival, Evan McHugh, will be playing songs from his latest album, From the Second Chair at Smith’s Olde Bar on Thursday, September 20th at 8pm. I’ll be there assisting Jorge Menes, as he captures Evan in action.
Secondly, sneakerheads unite at Sneaker Pimps Atlanta this Saturday night at Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center. This globally touring sneaker show is back in Atlanta for the 4th year, and they’ve finally hooked-up the ATL with a deserving performance from the Clipse. We’ll be out supporting our boys at Standard who are sponsoring the event.
Lastly, our buddy, Garrett Moore will be making a homecoming tour stop at Eddie’s Attic on Wednesday, October 3rd at 7:30pm. Be sure to pick up his album, Fireseed, that we designed last month.
Mark your calendars!

Megan Huntz has taken our process to the next level. Now we’re working with dyes, deconstructing tees, putting zippers where they’re not supposed to be, and even printing on unitards. We’ll reveal all of the crazy-collaborations in due time (most of which are one-off originals). We’re getting our ideas on the table while she’s still here. She’ll be leaving us for Italy in October and we’ll be forced to collaborate via the web. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to convince her not to leave, but I don’t think it’s working.
We’re also combining the Medusa II photo shoot with Megan Huntz Dresses on the 23rd of September. Send models. We are still looking for two more. Contact Us!
In other news, we’ll have Project Fourt @ Coke HQ updates soon, along with submissions for another awesome show with the fun kids at MINT Gallery at the end of the month. Have a good weekend guys!

A couple weeks ago, workaholic & photographer extraordinaire, Jorge Menes, approached us with this photo concept. Knowing Jorge’s reputation, we knew he’d pop off 20 shots a minute and make pure magic. A couple hours later, he’d already dropped “the sauce” on the images, making Georgios and I look so fresh. Assisting Jorge on this shoot were the boys of Ayy Gurl Studios, Ross Martin and Joe Martinez. Thanks dudes. We owe you tees.

We’ve been jamming on ideas for the past 2 weeks for the beginning of Phase II of Project Fourt at Coca-Cola. We’ve got a huge presentation to get together for Monday morning, so we’re working through the weekend to make sure it rocks…and you know it will. We’re expecting to be installing our ideas at Coke HQ through the end of the month. Stay tuned…
Also, we’ve lowered the prices on almost everything in the Epidemik Coalition Online Store so pick up some late summer/early fall styles for cheap.

To pay tribute to our motto and to commemorate a new phase of EC, we collaborated with Megan Huntz Dresses on this Limited Edition Black Pearl/Gold colorway. Every piece has been hand-dyed by Megan herself and has a vintage softness we’ve never achieved before. Head over to the Epidemik Coalition Online Store and grab one of these truly unique pieces before they’re gone forever!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. We had a lot of fun with our new stickers in addition to drinking PBR tallboys all night (whiskey & Coke in Georgios’ case). We got a late start this morning, but that’s okay. It was totally worth it. See more phone pictures after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

We’ve got some new EC vinyl stickers in an assortment of colors. Larry and I have been roaming the city tagging stuff left and right. Keep a look out for them. We will also be sending these stickers along with any t-shirt purchases, so there will be something extra to look forward to other than our cool tees!
By the way, we’ll be at the Local tonight. Come out wearing an EC tee and we’ll buy you a PBR tallboy.

This new website, ATL Creatives is the jam. They’re showcasing tons of artists’ profiles and work from around the ATL area. I just submitted some images the other day and I’m already live on the network. You can participate too, so head over there and get hooked up!
The following is an interview I did with the guys who started the site:
Who started ATL Creatives?
Rick Hill, Matt Berger Bergerhill.com and Eric Shoemaker Ericshoemaker.com
What are you looking to achieve through your site?
The whole point of the site is to showcase ATL creatives. We hope creatives around the city will embrace our efforts. For us, the coolest part is that the site is owned and controlled by ATL Creatives and not some marketing attack firm trying to be hip. We really care about this city and its creatives. We like to say the site is created by ATL creatives for ATL creatives. We represent everything ATL and we’re looking for all types of creatives for the site. Please spread the word.
