The Anglerfish is a rare fish that can be found in the deepest parts the ocean and even here in Atlanta’s Peachtree Creek. Imagine being in the deepest and coldest part of the Atlantic ocean and running into the Anglerfish. This sea monster of the abyss enjoys using a glowing lure to draw-in prey. It’s tough being a small fish in a large pond, unless you are an Anglerfish.
This unique fish inspired us to produce a vicious graphic tee. The tee captures the moment before the angler strikes. Just like EC’s growth in the past 2 years; the time is almost right for us to make our big move.
Get your Anglerfish tee in the Epidemik Coalition Online Store.
Thanks to Ross Martin of Ayy Gurl Studios for taking this photo and to model Daniel Hall.

If you’ve been to Octane Coffee lately, you’ve probably noticed the new wall graphic. How could you not? It’s Black Slabbath, the heaviest typeface in the world. There’s only one thing about this new typeface that isn’t colossally black: the razor-thin white space. It slices through and between geometric characters, creating a juxtaposition of contrasts and rhythms. It was designed by our buddy and creative director of Armchair Media, Stefan Kjartansson and is available for purchase at YouWorkForThem.
Here’s a video of Mick Bailey installing the wall graphic at Octane.
We’re going to hold a small design contest as incentive for you to purchase the typeface from YouWorkForThem. It goes like this: We’ll print a tee for the first person to send us a completed design (2 colors or less) using Black Slabbath. We’ll also print a few extra tees for ourselves and some close friends, but you’ll get all the bragging rights! Email your final graphics to email@example.com. Let’s do this!

We took Georgios’ modern interpretation of Atlanta’s iconic “A” and kicked it to the side and look what happened… We’re offering this print on a 100% cotton, American Apparel tee that is crisp, soft, and lightweight. I’ll have to get my Military Air Jordan IV’s out of the ice box to rock with this tee all Spring/Summer. Order yours in the Epidemik Coalition Online Store and start breaking necks!
In other news, we’re looking for reps in your city. If you consider yourself a trend-setter and you want to stay covered in EC gear for next to nothing except for a little legwork, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with a story or reason why we should be your sugar daddies.
Reps responsibilities are:
1. Getting crunk (reppin’ ATL) in an endless supply of EC gear
2. Hand delivering promotional items to boutique owners and buyers
We’re looking forward to hearing from you. Do your thing.

In cooperation with Knoll, MODA presents the first exhibition to examine the complete range of furniture designs of Eero Saarinen. Widely heralded as America’s foremost architect in the 1950s, Eero Saarinen (1910 – 1961) gained his earliest international prominence with his prize winning furniture designs done with your boy, Charles Eames, for the 1941 Museum of Modern Art Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition.
Saarinen’s subsequent cooperation with his life-long friend Florence Knoll resulted in his most noted designs: the Grasshopper Chair, the Womb Chair and derivative 70-Series searing and the iconic Pedestal Series of tables and chairs.
Designs for Everyday Living presents examples of Saarinen’s early furniture designs, sketches, photographs and descriptions of each of Saarinen’s collections, including a rare remaining example of the MoMA Organic Design chairs. Knoll has provided archival examples and pieces of Saarinen’s timeless designs from current production.
The Furniture of Eero Saarinen: Designs for Everyday Living
Museum of Design Atlanta
Opening Reception: January 31st, 5 pm – 8 pm
Congrats to our girl, Ansley Whipple, for her hard work in getting this exhibit together. We can’t wait to come through on the 31st!

2008 is going to be a big year for ATL‘s design community and hopefully for Epidemik Coalition as well. We’ve created Atlanta-centric designs before, but this is definitely the most progressive. Georgios is predicting “big things poppin’ in 2008″ by presenting us with his modern reinterpretation of “the A” after hacking apart his favorite (and appropriately named) typeface, Futura.
We’ve also been watching a lot of old-school Mike Tyson fights and Rocky movies, hence our recent obsession with clean/classic heather grey. This is our unique remix of a gym-rat “basic” with modern lines that’ll keep you warm all winter. Note the subtle color gradient and the embroidered EC logo on the left cuff. Available now at the Epidemik Coalition Online Store.

Demun Jones has been rocking Epidemik Coalition tees while on tour with Rehab throughout the ReverbNation tour this past Fall/Winter. The tour continues this Saturday (January 12th), with Rehab’s return to the Georgia Theatre in Athens. They’ll be playing songs from their upcoming/unrecorded album for the first time, so you won’t want to miss out. Keep an ear out for my favorite new track, “King of Tweakers”.
Check out more photos of Demun Jones in Epidemik Coalition after the jump.

A few months ago, Mike Germon of ThoughtMarker (ATL’s #1 Art Blog) asked us to throw down on a tee project commemorating his first year of documenting Atlanta’s art and design scene on the internet.
This “Thought Bubble” graphic plays on the well known EC Speech Bubble design and also takes on traits of our new crest design. We’re printing it with our brightest inks and tees and it definitely stands out.
Get one FREE with any order through the Epidemik Coalition Online Store while supplies last. We’ve already started sending them out, so consider yourself lucky if you’ve already received yours because they’re going fast.
Other contributors to this limited tee series are MINT Gallery, Steven Dixey, and Metatronic (Mark and James from Beep Beep Gallery).
Check out all the ThoughtMarker Winter Tee Collection designs at ThoughtMarker.
