H1GHER LEARNING, the only website in the world dedicated to Southern streetwear culture, is partnering with our brand, We Are The Process for “Christmas In July” on Saturday, July 30th. I can’t wait to see all our friends in Charleston!
Because children should have fun all year—and not just the holidays—H1GHER LEARNING and We Are The Process are banding together in an effort to raise toys for the children sponsored by Courageous Kidz, the Charleston based non-profit organization created to provide a “Safe Haven for Kids with Cancer.”
Patrons will be one of the first in the world to view the We Are The Process Summer 2011 collection. Attendees will also have the chance to purchase one of the 100 limited edition Enduro MMXII tees, the purchase of which will put them in the running for a one-of-one We Are The Process custom designed, Brooklyn Machine Works fixed gear bicycle valued at $2000.
Party-goers that donate a toy for Courageous Kidz upon entry will be eligible for discounts on We Are The Process merchandise as well.

I recently returned home from a trip to our nation’s capital. With hundreds of things to see, and so much rich history, it was hard deciding where to spend my afternoon. I narrowed the field and chose to visit the Arlington National Cemetery. Arlington is hallowed ground to US veterans of every war. It is the final resting place of some 360,000 heroes. Arlington is a shrine, a visual reminder to those living that freedom is something we fight and die for. Many have paid the ultimate price to insure we live free. It is important that we all remember those heroes. We have a duty, to them, to make our lives, our cities, and our country, great. South, North, East or West; do what it is you do the best you know how. Let’s make them proud.

The new issue of HOOP with Der Champ, Dirk Nowitzki on the cover arrived at our studio today and we were excited to see our Dirty South Cowgirl and Thirteen tees being featured in their Wear section. Thanks to the fine people at HOOP for giving shine to the little brand from the Dirty South! Pick up your very own versions of these featured tees in our online store!

Midnight City is the new single of M83‘s upcoming double LP, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Just like their previous effort, Saturdays = Youth, there are a lot of similarities and nods to 80′s inspiration. This new track however blasts off with a zany saxophone solo towards the end. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I’m sure my babysitter from 1984 would love this track. And what’s with the muppet art? I have no clue. It’s the 80′s bro…

I ran across this lil video on the Inter-web today and I had to post it. If you know anything about typography, you would know that Comic Sans is one of the most hated fonts in the type world. We all know how snooty designers can be about there type usage especially when it comes to using a generic fonts like Comic Sans or Papyrus. It’s a big ‘NO NO’ in the design world… but not everyone has 10,000 fonts like we do.
In the past, I hated Times New Roman because in my mind, it was one of those generic fonts you never used….until I was forced to use Times in a Typography class at Portfolio Center. Now I love it and use it every chance I get. Any typeface can look great, given the right concept and treatment. Cheers to these guys for finding a good use for Comic Sans…. making fun of Designers.
Anyway, enough of my Typography rant. Take a look at the video. It’s hilarious!

To coincide with the We Are the Process summer drop that should be hitting store shelves this week, we wanted to commemorate our relationship with Atlanta boutique, Standard, with this special edition Nokahoma tee. The store has had our backs since day one and we couldn’t be more grateful for that. Standard’s owner, Farshad Arshid, handpicked the navy (his favorite color) and light blue colorway for this limited run of tees that will be available only at Standard’s Lenox Square location. Tees will go on sale at noon on Thursday, July 21st. Georgios and myself will be hanging out all day with our “Conquest” bike in-tow. Come see us!

Congrats to the Braves for reaching the 10,000 Franchise Wins milestone over the weekend. Only the Cubs & Giants have more… not for long! Let’s go!

Every now and then we’ll get an email from someone who can’t locate the “over-the-shoulder women’s tee” or “the one with slits down the side” in our online store that is seen in one of our We Are the Process lookbooks. The answer is simple. We don’t actually make those tees. What you see in our lookbooks are merely styling suggestions. We’ve found that women like to purchase our men’s tees and chop them up to fit them and we highly encourage that DIY behavior. Perhaps we can do a tee-chopping walk through or tutorial for this site in the near future…

We just produced a small re-run on our Nokahoma snapbacks in 2 colorways. They’re available now in the We Are the Process online store. Act fast, there aren’t many left. Pick up an Enduro MMXII tee while you’re at it, for a chance to win the “Conquest” bike.
