The HTM Flyknit Collection – Third Release

July 26th, 2012 by Larry

htm-knit_3_heel.jpg

Today, Nike releases its third installment of the HTM Flyknit collection. HTM, the ongoing collaboration between Fragment Design Founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, Nike design legend Tinker Hatfield and Nike Inc. CEO and designer Mark Parker, celebrates the groundbreaking performance attributes of a new technology that changes the way footwear is constructed.

Since 2002, these three designers have worked together to amplify new innovations, reinterpret existing designs, and explore concepts that take the brand to new places.

Pushing the boundaries of Nike Flyknit technology by showcasing the aesthetic possibilities of fabrics, colors and patterns, this third collection features a refreshed series of color ways. Releasing as a collection of six unique color ways, the HTM Trainer+ is woven into four classic solids, Black, Blue, Volt, and bold Red, embellished with the swoosh mark on the back heel. Two additional styles from the collection feature a multi-colored upper that is the result of the yarns from the classic solids coming together through multiple weave variations. This approach allows for varying hues to combine into an intricate variation of textured patterns producing a bold heathered upper that exhibits the precision and complexity of knit technology. Made complete with Nike’s signature Lunarlon cushioning system, the HTM Trainer+ is finished with a sleek white Lunarlon sole that ties the collection together.

Launching this week, the third release of the HTM Flyknit Collection in all six color ways will be available in limited quantities at select Nike retail locations globally. Please visit www.nikestadiums.com for specific release dates.

“Tommys” Embroidery Proof

July 26th, 2012 by Larry

tommys_embroidery_wearetheprocess.jpg

We’ve given extra attention to the production of a few new pieces which will be released very soon. How is this embroidery being used? You’ll just have to wait and see. We like to play it close to the chest around these parts. It’s hard to believe that we’ll be issuing We Are the Process Season 11 in just a matter of days. It’ll be worth the wait.

Introducing: Neil Chopra

July 20th, 2012 by Larry

neil_chopra.jpg

We’d like to welcome Neil Chopra to our team here are EC/DC & We Are the Process. Neil will be interning with us throughout the summer and beyond. He is about to begin his last year in the communication arts/design program at SCAD Atlanta while simultaneously working at Nike Running at Lenox Mall, and helping us #GrowTheBrand. Needless to say, he’s a busy cat, but he relishes in keeping things moving. Neil is a huge sports fan (like myself) and his allegiances lie with the Los Angeles Lakers, Baltimore Ravens, Arsenal, Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Hawks “when they aren’t totally embarrassing”. Follow him at @NeilChopz.

Hines Ward Action Figure from The Dark Knight Rises

July 14th, 2012 by Larry

void0.jpg

Perhaps you’ve noticed that scene in The Dark Knight Rises trailer where Pittsburgh Steeler’s great, Hines Ward, runs through a football field as it collapses into itself, dressed as a member of the fictitious Gotham Rogues. The scene from the movie was filmed at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh last summer. In October, McFarlane Toys will release a special edition Hines Ward “Gotham Rogues” figure to commemorate this instance where a real-life athlete plays himself in the comic world of Batman. The figure is clad in the black-and-yellow Rogues garb from the movie, and even sports Ward’s real-life tattoo on his right arm.

If you’ve visited our studio, you’ve seen our collection of McFarlane sports figurines, and we can’t wait to add this one to the mix. Pre-order yours now at BigBadToyStore.com.

Nike 21st C. Windrunner V. Medal Stand Look

July 10th, 2012 by Larry

nike-21st-c-windrunn_d37964.jpg

Nike worked with renowned artist Marcus Gaab to explore the 21st C. Windrunner V. jacket and it’s highly reflective properties. Modeled after a sportswear staple, the Windrunner is detailed with the trademark V-shaped chevron across the chest, dotted with ventilation perforations across the back and finished off with a hyper reflective shell that burns bright under the most subtle lights. Serving function and aesthetic, The “United States of America” is applied with precision laser technology, while the lower back is detailed with 50 perforations — one for each state. A badge on the inside of the jacket, placed over the heart reads “Team USA.”

The Nike 21st C. Windrunner V. will be worn on the medal stand in London for those that win gold, silver or bronze in the following sports: USA Badminton, USA Trampoline, USA Cycling (Track), USA Canoe/Kayak, USA Weightlifting, USA Judo, USA Swimming, USA Gymnastics, USA Track and Field, USA Triathlon, USA Tennis, USA Sailing, USA Synchronized Swimming, USA Table Tennis, USA Rowing, USA Taekwondo, USA Modern Pentathlon. Paralympic: Judo, Powerlifting, Goal Ball, Table Tennis, Cycling, Swimming, Rowing, Track and Field, Sailing, Wheelchair Tennis, Boccia, and Fencing.

This Windrunner will definitely be highly coveted by Olympians and fans alike. Good news for us non-Olympic athletes: There will be a version available for retail around the start of the London games. Stay up on NikeStore.com for updates.
