This Friday, at Young Blood Gallery from 6-9, Drive-By Press will be there printing on the spot. Ryan O’Malley & Joseph Velasquez will have over a hundred custom prints for you to choose from. Bring a tee and let them make you an one of a kind tee. They may even let you print it yourself.

After Young Blood, we will be moving the party to El Bar for a few drinks and some great music provided by Brian Parris & Cristo Disco. Mention “Drive-By Press” at the door and get in free.

Popstars & Cokeheads

September 24th, 2009 by Georgios

Check out our boy, Greg Mike, getting ready for his first solo show in San Francisco at the Medicine Agency . The show features hand painted pieces, sculptures, tee shirts, accessories, prints and collectibles designed and created over the past ten months. The centerpiece of the show is an army of 100 hand painted soda cans that have been transformed into the kaleidoscopic “POPSTARS AND COKEHEADS” characters, a playfully sinister cast of unique and eye-catching creatures. If you happen to be in San Francisco, go check out the show.

Steven Dixey - The Road to Damascus

September 10th, 2009 by Larry

dixey.jpg

One of my favorite artists, Steven Dixey, is showing new pieces in a series called The Road to Damascus at Beep Beep Gallery on Saturday night. I’ve been anticipating this show for months now. If you call yourself a fan of the arts, you HAVE to see his iconic work. Hopefully we’ll be able to pick up something nice for the Treehouse!

Special Delivery: Vans Chukkas

August 6th, 2009 by Larry

vans_chukka.jpg

I love coming into The Treehouse and being greeting by new mail from buddies all over the world. Today, we opened a package from Chris who runs the humble blog Life After Midnight and works as a design intern for NYC brand, 3Sixteen that I’ve become a huge fan of.

We’ve been tasked to customize this pair of Vans Chukkas for a charity show taking place in Canada next year. Other participating artists include SoleFood NYC, Blaine Fontana, and Mark Dean Veca. They will be auctioned off with all profits going to the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital. How cool is that!?!

Also, keep tabs on Life After Midnight, as I’ll be participating in the Monday Morning Playlist interview series as soon as I can narrow down my tracklist!

By the way, check out the sweet logo designed by our own, Erin Warner. Give it up for our girl!

Here’s a photo of Bernard McCoy (the man behind Modern Atlanta) from the MA09 “Design is Human” Kickoff Party we attended last Friday evening. It was great hanging with all of our professional creative friends all under one roof for a few hours. Check out Kevin Byrd’s flickr photoset of the night here.

Here’s a closer look at the custom Vans from the Laced Up sneaker event we took part in a few weeks back. If you happen to be in Charlotte, they’re on display at Niche right now. Stop in and say hello to Bobby, and while you’re there, take some photos and send ‘em over!

Laced Up: Event Photos

March 16th, 2009 by Larry

Last Friday, we arrived in Charlotte about 3 hours before the Laced Up show at The Forum with our custom custom PROCESS Chukka boots in hand. Just enough time to drop them off with the show’s coordinators, grab a bite to eat, and get back to the show. Thanks a million to our Queen City friends for showing us around town, giving us the VIP treatment, and for the endless hospitality.

Shout outs: Radar for letting us crash at his pad and for the endless shenanigans (videos will surface on the internet), A.C., Camila with Blu Magazine, Myk with D.M.N., Shane, BLNGxBDGT, Bobby and Niche, Josh and Black Sheep, Ryan O’Malley for the sweet prints and the basement tour of the Davidson College archives, and everyone else we met or forgot to mention.

See all the mayhem from Laced Up after the jump. All photos by Hadi. Read the rest of this entry »
