Localeur x We Are The Process [Part 1]

July 1st, 2013 by Larry

LOCALEURxWATP_655_header

We’re excited to announce a special collaboration with one of our favorite tech start ups, Localeur. For our first effort, we designed these special typographic tees to announce the beginning of an ongoing series of collaborations we will be doing with Localeur.

Localeur is a curated community of local insiders who want to help you experience local in their city. While review sites lack authenticity and local credibility, and travel guide books go out of date the moment they’re published, Localeur gives you a curated look into what it’s like to be a local. Currently Localeur is in Austin and Houston, TX but will soon be expanding their reach across most of our favorite major cities (including ATL!).

These limited edition shirts and tanks are available for $40. Sign up for the Localeur e-mail newsletter via their homepage then hit them up at info@localeur.com to purchase.

Unisex sizing, tees available in black with white discharge print, tanks in heather grey with olive discharge print. Very limited quantities, y’all!

StyleX Panel

March 19th, 2012 by Larry

On Saturday, I participated in a panel called “What’s Up With Urban Fashion & Streetwear?” at SXSW’s StyleX event along with Marcus Troy, Matt Halfhill, & KJ Kearney. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours we had to chop it up and answer industry questions from the audience. We discussed how crucial it is to have a real story for your brand or product. Without that, you’re just another brand creating visual noise.

Nike Free Run iD “SXSW”

March 16th, 2012 by Larry

sxsw-nike-free-id.jpg

The Nike Free Run iD (green/green) will be dropped exclusively at the VEVO / NikeFuel Station at SXSW tomorrow. It’s an exclusive drop celebrating the festivities in town happening around SXSW as well as the colorway making nods to St. Patrick’s Day. I’ll be waking up early to cop this pair. If anyone else is going to be at 4th & Colorado, bring some breakfast tacos and we’ll party.

NikeFuel Free 3.0

March 13th, 2012 by Larry

As if being a sneakerhead ever had a time to take a break! During our brand’s trip to StyleX at SXSW this week, I’m hoping to have time to visit the VEVO / NikeFuel Station at the corner of 4th & Colorado where they will be releasing a limited edition Free 3.0 sneaker to celebrate the Nike+ FuelBand. The sneaker has red to green details and will be sold exclusively at SXSW this week. Benefits of this running shoe include a mesh upper for a lightweight/breathable fit, phylite midsole for durability for a resilient ride and reduced overall weight, and deep Nike Free flex grooves for enhanced flexibility and stability.

For more information about the VEVO / NikeFuel Station, visit Nike.com/SXSW on your mobile device.

Nike Introduces 2012 Black History Month Collection

February 3rd, 2012 by Larry

nabd_bhm_nsw_mens_collect_0177_6987.jpg

In celebration of the 36th anniversary of Black History Month, Nike is introducing a new, limited-edition 2012 Black History Month Collection featuring premium footwear from Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear, along with select apparel.

The collection celebrates the achievements and pioneering spirit of three important teams: 1996 USA Basketball Women’s team, 2002 Brazil Men’s Soccer team, and the 2008 Kenyan Long-Distance running team. These teams answered the call to greatness and their legacy continues to uplift and inspire their communities.

Nike designers developed a signature graphic print and distinct colors that are featured on the shoes. This motif is inspired by the vibrant colors of International African culture, drawing visual cues from Kenyan beads, to the Brazilian Carnivale, to African-American quilt making which originated in the southern United States.

Select basketball shoes in the 2012 Black History Month collection includes the Nike Zoom KD IV, Nike Kobe VII System Supreme and LeBron 9 — all feature the pattern with dark grey as the base color of each shoe.

Nike Sportswear shoes include the Nike Air Force 1, Nike Air Max 1, Nike Blazer and 2012 Nike Huarache Free. In addition to the shoes, select apparel styles include the Nike Destroyer jacket, T-shirt and snapback hat.

In previous years, Black History Month offerings from Nike were only available to select friends and family. 2012 is the first time that Nike has put together an entire collection (they’ve previously done tees and AF1′s at most) and offered the items for retail sale, but not without the intentions of contributing to the community. In keeping with a tradition of honoring this holiday by giving back to organizations that work to inspire youth towards greatness, Nike, Inc. will make a financial contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

The Nike Black History Month Collection will be available at select retailers such as our homies at Rock City Kicks Fayetteville and Nice Kicks, and online at NikeStore.com beginning February 11.

Detailed photography of every piece after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
