New Experiments [Part 2]

Here’s another look at a project that we’re working on diligently with some new friends of ours. More soon…

We’ve been working with some new friends in Charlotte on expanding our collection outside of apparel. If you’ve worked on saddles or chaps, you might be familiar with what this is. If you’re not, sorry for the cryptic image… we’ll clue you in really soon!
PROCESS Summer 2010 is here! Check out our lookbook and the new threads over at WeAreTheProcess.com and follow @WeAreTheProcess on Twitter.

We spent an action-packed weekend in Charlotte, NC. While there, we attended the skateboard art show, Let the Good Times Roll (we had a board in the show) and took some stills for the PROCESS Summer ‘10 on the Camden block. It’s our 2nd home, so we figured it was about time we produced something there. Here’s super-intern, Chris Mosier, holding it down in the Common Market alleyway behind Black Sheep Skate Shop.

Our homie, Ryan O’Malley, is one of the best woodworking/print-gurus I’ve ever seen in action. He recently left a teaching gig in Charlotte to travel the country and share his press-working skills in a series of workshops in every city imaginable. He has since left to take a teaching position in TX, but he left a gift for the Queen City before he took off. (via Kitschworth)

Charlotte NC’s Stranger Day has released a new mixtape that is a product of hard work and collaboration with industry icons. “Young, Dumb & Dope” includes production, features and remixes from Chip Tha Ripper, Playboy Tre, Hollywood Holt, Klever, Skeet Skeet, Emynd, Benzi & Jams F. Kennedy of Brother Reade.
Having personally witnessed SD’s hard work and positive attitude towards his craft, it gives me a lot of pride to see the fruits of his labor. Definitely download the mixtape and book him for your next house party.

Our friends at The Joneses have just released some snapback caps that carry the same bold and simplistic style that defines their brand. Available at Niche in Charlotte and St. Alfred in Chicago. Roadtrip anyone?

Stranger Day sent me this leak off his new mixtape with DJ Benzi. The tape is called “Young, Dumb, & Dope” and the track is called “Sunrise Remix”. If you’re in the know, you’ll recognize a lot of the shout outs he mentions on the track. If you want to hear what this sounds like live, I suggest you come to the PROCESS 1st Anniversary event at Graveyard Tavern tomorrow night.

North Carolina’s, Stranger Day, brings us a new track in collaboration with Chicago’s British Knights. I’m a huge fan of this song and his new visual identity. Check out that Padre’s inspired SD! I’m looking forward to hearing more from this project (if there is anything else to hear). It’s always encouraging to see a friend put themselves out there in a major way.
Word on the street is that Stranger Day might be making an ATL appearance very soon…

I’m not really sure what this is all about, but this framed photo was dropped off at Black Sheep in Charlotte on Friday. Was it for an art show, or a tribute to the Sheep and Process? It’s pretty cool either way…

Right before DJ AM passed, it was announced that he had been working with Swoosh on his own kicks. No one knew when they were coming out, but most salivated over the sample photos. Our friends at Niche in Charlotte just announced that they will be receiving the highly-anticipated Nike x DJ AM Dunk High Quickstrike sneaker on January 9th. We’re still unsure as to which (if any) accounts in Atlanta will be receiving these kicks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if our buds at Standard get them. Stay tuned… It’s confirmed. Standard will also be receiving these on January 9th. Let the lines begin!

Check out our ad in the newest issue of Charlotte/Atlanta/Charleston-based periodical, Blü Magazine. It’s available now at fine retailers around town, such as Standard and Youngblood.
We used this photo of Cristo Disco because he always holds it down for us at El Bar in Atlanta. Thanks to him, and Ross Martin for the shot!
Check out our buddy, Shane Smallz (repping the Process), in the most recent Creative Loafing Charlotte. Thanks to Joe for the heads-up!

Our homie from Charlotte, A Huf, recently released this mixtape to the web. It’s great fodder for Monday morning creativity, so check it out!

Charlotte peeps, head over to Black Sheep and holler at Josh and Chase for us! Our summer delivery just arrived in their shop. Sorry about the crappy photo, but I left the trusty Canon Rebel at home last weekend!
Whenever we visit Charlotte, we know we’re in for a weekend of good eats and good friends. This past weekend, we brought Cristo Disco from ATL to play at the monthly SWARM event on the Camden block. Also, we dropped off the new season of PROCESS gear at Black Sheep, Charlotte’s definitive Skate Shop. Myk from DMN posted some photos of our weekend. Check them out here.
