Our friends at The Joneses have just released some snapback caps that carry the same bold and simplistic style that defines their brand. Available at Niche in Charlotte and St. Alfred in Chicago. Roadtrip anyone?
North Carolina’s, Stranger Day, brings us a new track in collaboration with Chicago’s British Knights. I’m a huge fan of this song and his new visual identity. Check out that Padre’s inspired SD! I’m looking forward to hearing more from this project (if there is anything else to hear). It’s always encouraging to see a friend put themselves out there in a major way.
Word on the street is that Stranger Day might be making an ATL appearance very soon…
Show your support and send ATL’s finest to Lollapalooza. Right now, Rob Wonder is sitting at #3 on the list. All he needs is a few more people to sign up and vote. If he wins, everyone will drink for FREE at El Bar on a special night with Klever. All you have to do is leave a comment on his profile page after voting and you’ll be on the list!
Rob Wonder remixed Passion Pit’s The Reeling for Lollapalooza’s Last Band Standing contest. The artist with the most fan votes will be invited to play the festival in Chicago’s Grant Park this summer.
Rob asked us to put together some cover art for the track and he uploaded it to his contestant profile here. Please go to the following link to hear the track and take 2 minutes to vote for him. You can vote once a day, until the contest ends on the 20th, so make sure you do the right thing to send some ATL steeze up to Chicago. You know he’s gonna show the world how to hold it down Atlanta style…
If you’re one of those people that’s always talking about how “Atlanta needs to come together, work together and get on the national radar some more”, you need to do your part right now. Rob will represent.
David Stern’s pocketbook has been hurting ever since MJ decided to call it quits. Which explains why the NBA has been full of undeserving players being put on pedestals for years since. That explains the moronic foul calls and the reason why 20-somethings worldwide long for “back in the day”. MJ is the greatest. Hands down. Lebron, take notes… btw, having Shaq on your team isn’t gonna help either.
Recently, our buddy Aaron with The Joneses let us delve into his back stock of items from seasons past. We’re stoked on finally scoring the gear we previously missed out on. I’ve been chatting with Aaron a lot lately about his line, our line, his plans for the future, and his Spring/Summer releases which will be debuting in Charlotte on April 17th at Niche.
We’ve also been slowly discussing a The Joneses x PROCESS collaboration… more details to come once we decide what we want to do!
Where are you from?
I’m from outside of Chicago originally. I moved back to Chicago six months ago and have been living in Bucktown since then. Come up here and I’ll show you around
Who do you work for?
I won’t bore you with the details of my nine to five. After the day job it’s The Joneses.
What are your Current Project(s)?
I’m mainly focused on The Joneses at the moment. I’m trying to make it into something worth while that people are excited to be a part of. Outside of that, creating the perfect ice cube.
If you had to give all your sneakers away to charity except for one pair, which ones would you keep?
My white vans seem to be the most versatile shoe I own. So the white vans.
What’s on your iPod right now?
Bill Withers, James Brown, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Chromeo, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and whatever is new on Kitschworth.
What’s your Favorite ATL food?
Highland Bakery
What’s your Favorite ATL hangout?
Standard and El Bar
What are your Pet Peeves?
One of my biggest pet peeves is people with bad manners. One of our tees from this season was a social commentary on the gradual disappearance of manners. I’m by no means an expert so if you notice something let me know.
Shout outs?
Atlanta. I know that’s cliché but without the support from Atlanta in last year or so the Joneses most likely wouldn’t exist. I owe a lot of thanks to many people down there. The city feels like a second home and I’m always excited when I know a new trip is on the horizon. Thanks for making that the case. EC keep up the good work and thanks for letting me be a part of the blog.
