The trailer for the new Sofia Coppola film, The Bling Ring, supposedly “leaked”. Sources say that a splash page had to be created on the spot to house said trailer and other social channels. I think they did a great job with that. Hermoine lookin’ nice too…
I am so excited for this upcoming film about Jackie Robinson! A good friend of our team worked on this production and told us all the baseball uniforms were replicated meticulously by Ebbets Field Flannels to match their 20th century counterparts. It will be exciting to see the uniforms in action and to find out what kind of gear EFF decides to release to the public.
In 2013, I’ll be most hyped to see 42, the real life story of baseball legend Jackie Robinson. The film starring Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford and Alan Tudyk went through a grueling spring/summer production schedule, the majority of which took place outside in historic ballparks all over the country. Word on the street is Ebbets Field Flannels produced all of the period-perfect baseball caps and uniforms. The uniforms are so historically accurate that they have soft bills and were made out of vintage bolts of flannel from the 40′s and 50′s. It makes me wonder where they’re keeping the leftover props from the film. I’d love to score a cap or two. Perhaps I’ll get lucky on eBay one day. Meticulous attention to detail will make this film shine. Check out the official trailer after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
Perhaps you’ve noticed that scene in The Dark Knight Rises trailer where Pittsburgh Steeler’s great, Hines Ward, runs through a football field as it collapses into itself, dressed as a member of the fictitious Gotham Rogues. The scene from the movie was filmed at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh last summer. In October, McFarlane Toys will release a special edition Hines Ward “Gotham Rogues” figure to commemorate this instance where a real-life athlete plays himself in the comic world of Batman. The figure is clad in the black-and-yellow Rogues garb from the movie, and even sports Ward’s real-life tattoo on his right arm.
If you’ve visited our studio, you’ve seen our collection of McFarlane sports figurines, and we can’t wait to add this one to the mix. Pre-order yours now at BigBadToyStore.com.
The Dark Knight Rises is arguably the most anticipated film of the year. With hype of this caliber one can expect a fair amount of spoofs. Those familiar with Pee-wee Herman will appreciate his voice dubbed version of The Dark Knight Rises trailer. Pure comedy…
This morning, Nike released a short film entitled Voices, celebrating women in sports. Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of Title IX (June 23, 1972), the landmark U.S. legislation that opened the door for female athletes to pursue their dreams through sport.
The film features the personal stories of four amazing female athletes, spanning three generations, who play by their own rules: Joan Benoit Samuelson (legendary distance runner and first women’s marathon gold medalist in Los Angeles in 1984), Lisa Leslie (four-time gold medalist and WNBA pioneer), Marlen Esparza (USA Boxing’s 6-time national champion and member of the USA Women’s Boxing team) and Diana Taurasi (two-time gold medalist, guard for Phoenix Mercury and former WNBA MVP).
The film launches tomorrow (June 23) on Nike Women Facebook and will run on ESPN and ABC Family, and again on June 26 on ESPN. Viewers can participate in the conversation on Nike Women Facebook and Twitter via #MAKETHERULES.
Super-sized bad guy Wreck-It Ralph — voiced by John C. Reilly — is quitting his destructive day job to save the entire arcade in Walt Disney Animation Studios 52nd animated feature. Also featuring the voices of Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman with cameos from gaming’s ultimate super-villains. In theaters November 2, 2012.
I’m so excited to see newly interpreted personalities from some of my favorite nostalgic characters from childhood. Also, I’m totally amazed by the licensing undertaking behind this production.
