Thank you to everyone who placed an order this month and received complimentary FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING. We’ve packed more orders than we ever thought! There’s still one more day to take advantage of the sweet deal at http://wearetheprocess.com/store.php
Charlotte peeps, head over to Black Sheep and holler at Josh and Chase for us! Our summer delivery just arrived in their shop. Sorry about the crappy photo, but I left the trusty Canon Rebel at home last weekend!
Our Brooklyn buddy, Matt Welborn (aka Quantuum 7thousand), sent us this funny pic of himself liberally interpreting the meaning of “Experiment or Die” in his Experiment or Die tee somewhere in the NYC subway system. Thanks bud! Keep sending ‘em in.
A while ago, Georgios gave us a sneak peek at something he’d been working on for the PROCESS Summer 09 collection. Here’s another teaser of a graphic that will be part of the collection as well. I know the image isn’t revealing much yet, but here’s a hint: after having a pow-wow with Georgios, we decided on the concept of “East Coast meets Far East”, drawing from influences I’ve had growing-up in both Asian and American cultures. I’ll reveal more of the graphic as we get closer to release date. I’ve said to much as it is…
Modern Atlanta kicks off 2009’s series of modern home tours and design events in Atlanta this week. We’re featured in the MA09 Guidebook that you will receive when you purchase tickets for this weeks home tours and/or Kickoff Party this Friday, the 15th. Buy tickets here. Thanks to MA for placing us alongside ATL’s top design teams and stories. I really like the photo they chose to publish!
Last summer I had the pleasure of previewing the newly opened Nike Sportswear flagship store at 21 Mercer in NYC along with it’s opening festivities. In true Nike fashion, I was invited to check out NSW’s digs in Hong Kong. Although the store’s Grand Opening has long past (it opened in October of 2008), I still wanted to take advantage of a rare opportunity to feature an HK destination that should be on the top of everyone’s lists when visiting.
Our buddy, Myk Pate, sent me this photo of him and BLNGxBDGT (Bling on a Budget) on the Camden block in Charlotte. If you didn’t already know, PROCESS is available at Black Sheep located at the fork on Camden Road. It’s great to see the line being embraced by what is quickly becoming our home away from home.
As a side note, we’re bringing BLNGxBDGT to El Bar on May 22nd in what will be the 1st of many SWARM [ATL Edition] parties that we’re throwing in conjunction with Kitchworth. Fun times coming this summer!
Our feature on Vimby.com just went live! Thanks to Chandler K. for spending the day with us and producing this great piece. Don’t forget to give us a rating!
Recently, our buddy Aaron with The Joneses let us delve into his back stock of items from seasons past. We’re stoked on finally scoring the gear we previously missed out on. I’ve been chatting with Aaron a lot lately about his line, our line, his plans for the future, and his Spring/Summer releases which will be debuting in Charlotte on April 17th at Niche.
We’ve also been slowly discussing a The Joneses x PROCESS collaboration… more details to come once we decide what we want to do!
As Georgios and I were leaving Philips Arena last Friday night, we received a phone call from one of our buddies who was reaching out to us on behalf of the one-and-only, Usher. As crazy as this sounds, he’d previously seen a few PROCESS pieces at Black Sheep in Charlotte last fall and wanted to pick up a few fitted caps and tees directly from us.
It is a huge compliment for someone with his star-power to show support for what we love doing. And it was important for us to deliver the order to his studio in person. He was super-nice as we chopped it up about “the PROCESS” and a few of his future endeavors. Plus, he gladly let me snap a pic of him in his new PROCESS x Estate LA Fitted too!
Since we’re on the subject… I know this is a re-posted song, but it’s one of my favs from the past year:
Here are some selects from the PROCESS Launch Circuit events at El Bar that took place from 10pm to 3am last Friday. I’ve never seen so many people packed into the EL at once. It’s great to see the right people in our city have our back! THANK YOU ATL!
There are a ton of photos from the night that I wasn’t able to post. To see the full photoset, head over to John Ellis’ website here.
Here are some selects from the PROCESS Launch Circuit events at Standard Peachtree that took place from 8pm to 10pm last Friday. This is where the party really started to pick up. Once again, thanks to John Ellis for providing his photography services. Also, thanks to ATL’s own, Whynatte, for sponsoring our event(s) with refreshments.

Here are some selects from the PROCESS Launch Circuit events at Standard Lenox that took place from 6pm to 8pm last Friday. It was great to see lots of friends and family passing through this location right after work. Thanks so much to John Ellis for providing his photography services. Also, thanks to ATL’s own, Whynatte, for sponsoring our event(s) with refreshments.
Yesterday, I quickly made this video using existing photography from the PROCESS lookbook photoshoot from last summer. It’s interesting to see the images come to life and equally exciting to see how far we’ve come. In just 24 hours, the line will be available to the public at both Standard locations and on our website, http://wearetheprocess.com. Thanks to everyone that helped make this possible. YOU GUYS are the WE in “We Are the Process”.
Here’s the PROCESS graphic tee version of Chief Nokahoma, on press. We’re expecting this to be one of the most popular designs for our first season. As you can see, we’re printing the line by hand. No machines were used, giving real meaning to the Made In The Dirty South tagline we use. We’ll keep it that way for as long as we can.
Contest winner, Kedarius Peoples, on stage performing in the GameChangers “Beat The Odds” tee designed by Epidemik Coalition’s Georgios Saliaris. Photo by Ross Martin
Atlanta high school students got together this morning to compete in a spoken word showdown on the subject of GameChangers in celebration of Black History Month. GameChanger’s emcee & “voice of Atlanta”, DJ Greg Street, introduced speaker Divine Bradley who came with a message to inspire the youth in attendance to follow their dreams. Georgios, Ross, and myself were really impressed with his presence and ability to motivate.
Soon afterward, the spoken word contestants assumed the stage while their student counterparts cheered them on with fervor. I was blown away with their performances and passion for changing-the-game with subject matter ranging from family members who inspire them, Rosa Parks, Correta Scott King, and Barack Obama’s ideal of change for America.
A panel of celebrity judges included Angelo Taylor (4-time Olympic Gold Medalist) and current Atlanta Falcons players Curtis Lofton and Jamaal Anderson. They crowned Kedarius Peoples of Cedar Grove High School (Senior) as the 1st place winner. He took home a $1,000 scholarship to pursue his dreams and a pair of the exclusive Nike Sportswear Black History Month Air Force 1 sneakers that were designed and inspired by the rich history of African American culture.
It’s great to see Nike’s involvement in the Atlanta community and as always, they do it right and they do it BIG.
EC’s own, Ross Martin, took some great shots of the event. Check out our selects from today after the jump. More to come in next week’s Photo Friday…
As we wrap up production for PROCESS, I wanted to highlight the importance of these four screens. Together, they’re used to create our Crossed-Tomahawks graphic tee which is one of my favorites from the entire line. Most of our readers don’t know this, but this graphic was one of the last created for the line and almost didn’t make the final cut. It was definitely unplanned, but was a no-brainer when we incorporated our tagline, Made In The Dirty South. I think it was at that point where we decided it was totally relevant to what we were doing. If you must have one, hang tight until March the 6th, 2009. They’ll be available online at wearetheprocess.com and at Standard on that day.
Georgios and I have been playing around with the idea of direct to garment printing lately. We’ve found that the printing process is quite fickle, painstaking, and pricey, although the results are usually really nice when done properly. It’s can become as irritable as troubleshooting your ink-jet printer at home. In my honest opinion, it seems that this will be the way of the future for tee printing, but the technology for consistency and efficiency isn’t quite “there” yet. Check out more photos of the PROCESSIris tee from our direct to garment experiment after the jump.
Where are you from?
I’m from outside of Chicago originally. I moved back to Chicago six months ago and have been living in Bucktown since then. Come up here and I’ll show you around
Who do you work for?
I won’t bore you with the details of my nine to five. After the day job it’s The Joneses.
What are your Current Project(s)?
I’m mainly focused on The Joneses at the moment. I’m trying to make it into something worth while that people are excited to be a part of. Outside of that, creating the perfect ice cube.
If you had to give all your sneakers away to charity except for one pair, which ones would you keep?
My white vans seem to be the most versatile shoe I own. So the white vans.
What’s on your iPod right now?
Bill Withers, James Brown, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Chromeo, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and whatever is new on Kitschworth.
What’s your Favorite ATL food?
Highland Bakery
What’s your Favorite ATL hangout?
Standard and El Bar
What are your Pet Peeves?
One of my biggest pet peeves is people with bad manners. One of our tees from this season was a social commentary on the gradual disappearance of manners. I’m by no means an expert so if you notice something let me know.
Shout outs?
Atlanta. I know that’s cliché but without the support from Atlanta in last year or so the Joneses most likely wouldn’t exist. I owe a lot of thanks to many people down there. The city feels like a second home and I’m always excited when I know a new trip is on the horizon. Thanks for making that the case. EC keep up the good work and thanks for letting me be a part of the blog.
So, we have already started working on some new tee designs for Process Summer 2009 release. Here’s a lil sneak peak into one of the designs, Dirty Octopi MMXII. It’s a play off of the Dirty Bird tee designed by Larry.
I dropped by Motive807, Austin Texas’ world-famous streetwear & sneaker boutique, while I was in town last week. They carry many great brands and boast the best sneaker selection for a single store in the southwest. Fahad, the store’s owner, let me take some photos of the shop, gave me his thoughts on the NFL playoffs, and he suggested some Austin grub to check out. See store photos after the jump.
Here’s a look inside the PROCESS gift bags from El Bar’s New Years Eve party. Inside you’ve got the new El Bar tee (designed by Georgios of EC & PROCESS where he remixed the logo by Steve Deniro), a sticker pack from The Joneses, a StreetLocal Gentleman comb, the new Frank magazine, Scion socks, and various mixtapes including remixes from ATL’s own, Rob Wonder, Klever, & Treasure Fingers. Not pictured are the 2009 V.I.P./No Cover keychains that were also handed out at the door. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it an extra-special evening!
In the spirit of giving, here’s our contribution to New Years Eve at El Bar. Our PROCESS tote bags will be holding new El Bar tees, designed by Georgios of EC/PROCESS, in addition to other gifts from Frank 151, The Joneses, StreetLocal and more.
Esper Magazine is a revolutionary web-based, interactive magazine from England. They felt strongly about featuring PROCESS and conducting an interview with yours truly in their premiere issue. Special thanks to Terry, Marc, and the rest of the Esper team for puttin’ us on! Check out our feature here.
