Super-sized bad guy Wreck-It Ralph — voiced by John C. Reilly — is quitting his destructive day job to save the entire arcade in Walt Disney Animation Studios 52nd animated feature. Also featuring the voices of Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman with cameos from gaming’s ultimate super-villains. In theaters November 2, 2012.
I’m so excited to see newly interpreted personalities from some of my favorite nostalgic characters from childhood. Also, I’m totally amazed by the licensing undertaking behind this production.
I’m really looking forward to the upcoming launch of OLO for iPad (& iPhone), coming soon the the App Store. The interface design seems super clean and the controls and physics look like hours of fun in my future.
Today, Ubisoft announced a partnership with several of the greatest athletes in the world who will appear in broadcast commercials alongside Ezio Auditore, the legendary hero in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the blockbuster action video game hitting store shelves on November 15. Starring in the campaign are two time MMA champion BJ Penn, game-changing running back Adrian Peterson and one of the most dynamic professional basketball players in the world, Derrick Rose. The athletes, known for their legendary status in their respective sport and passion for Assassin’s Creed were selected by Ubisoft to be a part of the Assassin’s Creed Revelations’ #Leave Your Legacy campaign.
Revelations will be released for PS3 and Xbox on November 15th. Looks like I know what I will be doing if the NBA doesn’t get this lockout situation figured out.
This little video just got me real excited about the new FIFA game. The free demo is out on Playstation Network already, but I’m just going to wait for the real thing. FIFA 12 drops on September 27th… Pre-order the game, then add me on PSN. My handle is: tentenlarry. Seeya on the pitch!
The only video game I’ll ever put any effort into purchasing on the day it comes out is FIFA on PS3. This year’s version looks so nice! Check out the video at 0:27 with the scissor-leg takedown! Unreal…
I don’t know if ya’ll have had a chance to check out any trailers from Battlefield 3 but’s it looks bananas! One of the most anticipated first-person shooters, Battlefield 3 is due to come out on 10.25.11. This trailer shows off the massive multi-player map called Caspian Border that is a vehicle heavy map… meaning you get to fly jets and drive tanks!!! DICE, the studio that created BF3, did an amazing job with the graphics and effects using their cutting-edge game engine Frostbite 2. This trailer looks so realistic at times, I can see how some may confuse it with reality. The Beta version is due to come out sometime in September.
Just like our Fantasy league teams, we plan to start a We Are the Process squad for BF3 that will be open to anyone that wants to join. Maybe we can get our very own Marine, Jorge Menes, to train our squad. Hoorah!! We only rock PS3 here at EC/DC studio… so sorry X-box users.
For the second consecutive year, Minnesota Twins perennial All-Star, Joe Mauer is the cover athlete for MLB ’11 The Show, available exclusively for PlayStation. To commemorate this achievement, Nike will release the Nike Huarache TR Low “The Show”. This very limited trainer will be released on April 9th at Nike Mall of America, East Bay, select Minnesota and Chicagoland retailers, and Nice Kicks.
The Huarache TR Low “The Show” retails for $110 and is a baseball lover and gamers’ dream. Baseball inspired stitching around the toe emulates that of laces on a ball. The PlayStation logo is prominently displayed on the shoe’s outer tongue. The right shoe’s inner tongue includes Mauer’s iconic ‘7M’ logo.
When I’ve had the time to train/exercise, I’ve been wearing Zoom Huarache Trainer Mids. They feel like walking on clouds and I never feel any pain in my feet or knees. I’m looking forward to the freedom that a pair of lows will allow me. Now, if only someone would hook me up with the MLB ’11 so I can confirm how terrible I am at “new school” baseball games…

I rarely get excited about video games. Maybe once or twice a year, a title comes out that causes me to disregard all of my nerdy insecurities and just commit to being one of the many geeks to attend a midnight release. Given the track record of the Marvel vs. Capcom series, I knew this 3rd installment would be worth standing in line with 75 self-proclaimed “gamers”. If you’re unfamiliar with the MVC series: it’s a game allowing users to pick from a catalog of popular Marvel Comics & Capcom characters to fight to the death in a classic Street Fighter format.
The game is easy to pick-up without apprehension, yet it also very rewarding to players who are more familiar with playing prior versions of the game. I’m still clearly in the novice-button-mashing category, yet I’m still able to go online and hold my own against players on the PlayStation Network. I’ve gotten my butt kicked and I’ve also held my own by simply learning a trick or two. One of the best features of the game is that all the controls and special moves are diagrammed for each character on the pause screen, so there’s no need to read & memorize the instruction manual before giving the game a whirl. I can see myself getting better at the game with a little more practice, yet I’d be just as happy to watch others play it as well. The graphics are visually stunning. I think I’m more of a nerd for the comic art more than playing the game itself, and there’s a lot of stunning artwork to be seen on this instant classic. Read the rest of this entry »
Today, EA Sports announced the cancellation of their annual basketball game, NBA Elite 11 (formerly known as NBA Live). I’m super-bummed out by this decision for 2 reasons:
1) I’m a loyal EA Sports player. I’ve been a huge fan of the FIFA and Madden franchises over the years.
2) I was I was looking forward to picking up a copy of a game with one of my favorite players, Kevin Durant, on the cover.
The demo was buggy and it had horrible controls. I downloaded it and tried it out a few weeks back, but never experienced the hilarious glitch that this dude had, but I know I didn’t like it. Given that there’s no choice here, I’ll reluctantly defect to NBA 2K11 by 2KSports, who’s with me?
