We’ve designed this new tee just for the ladies out there who love EC. The EC Lovers Tee is filled with quotes and shout outs to some of our favorite things (cheese grits, crunk music), friends of EC (Menes Productions, Standard), and inside jokes. Thanks to Megan Huntz for contributing her handwriting skills to this graphic.
Come join us tonight at the Local for some Newcastle Imperial pints, tall whiskey cokes, and ouzo shots. If you are lucky, maybe you will bag yourself a cougar. If you wear some camo, EC will buy you a shot of ouzo. No guns needed, just some mad skills. Oupa Malakas!!!

These babies just came in today and we’re really excited about the finished product. About 2 months ago, we were approached by Garrett Moore to design his upcoming album called Fireseed. It will be released in conjunction with his show at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur this Thursday night [August 30th].
You can get your tickets to the show at the Eddie’s Attic Online Box Office
Here’s an exclusive preview of the opening track to the album, called “To Be Loved”.
Alright, here are some photos from the reception for the completion of Phase 1 of Project Fourt over at Coca-Cola last Thursday evening. Everyone over in global branding has been super nice to us and they’ve shown genuine appreciation for our efforts in inspiring greatness in their workplace.
Click on the photo of me, Wade, Megan, & Georgios to get to all of Jorge Menes’ Photos of Project Fourt.
Here’s a refresher for those who aren’t sure what Project Fourt is about:
Coke felt like their new global brand department needed a breath of fresh air. They wanted us to put some life back into their surroundings, so we are responsible for redesigning their conference rooms and other environments. Each conference room has a different theme.
The name of the Project is Fourt. The four of us, brought together under unique circumstances, given an outlet to express our unbounded creativity. This project has become our fort, or the temporary shelter that we’re playing in at the moment. We don’t expect it to last, we celebrate the fact that it’s fleeting.
The MIXT art show at MINT gallery contained fresh mixtape related art from many local artists. It was a very exciting night with many amazing art pieces that were also auctioned off. A raffle was held in which we donated a couple of Angelica Tees that went to two lucky winners. Special thanks to Andrew Bellury and the rest of the MINT crew for allowing us be a part of this great event.
This Saturday night [8/25], come out to MINT Gallery to check out a fresh mixtape related art show dubbed MIXT. We’ve contributed one of our world famous Boomcase/Briefboxes designed with Kevin Byrd from Armchair Media. We’ve also included our Mixtape #1 by Quantuum 7Thousand of Brooklyn and a stack of surprise EC tees. There will be an Auction for artwork and a Raffle, so be sure to show up to win some goods and support local artists.
It’s going to be a really strong show. Other featured artists include: Amanda Goodbread, Jess Hinshaw, Margaret Wright, Jason Travis, Andy Imm, Justin Davis, Emily Maxell, Jenny Anderson, Josephy Lawsky, J.R. Schulz, Jaimie Hopper, Lee Summers, Rebekah White, Christina Bowman, John Wilson, Harold McNaron, Gundrun Stone, Christy Chaffin, Silas Reeves, The Daemon King, Andrew Bellury, Morisca Valdez, Sunni Johnson, Thom Foolery, Mike Germon, Erica Jamison, & Marilyn Chen.

With only a day left in Phase 1 of the project, we completed the final room, Atlantis, or better known as “Atlantis Station, Y’all.” We have many more pics but we want to keep ‘em under wraps until after the unveiling this Thursday evening at Coke HQ. But since we are nice guys, here’s another lil teaser. Notice something familiar?
This EC icon is getting a makeover. Georgios and I took a trip to the Georgia Aquarium to take live action stills of jellyfish for our upcoming “Medusa II” tee. Here’s a tight crop of a photo we took while hogging the real estate in front of the jellyfish tank. We stood there taking pictures for over 45 minutes, annoying the tourists to no end…but they deserved it for bringing their snotty, crying children. So, I’m not sorry. [Just kidding, I’m not a baby hater…]
We’ll be recruiting models, experimenting with dyes, and shooting with Jorge Menes, whom you should know by now as EC’s go-to guy.
For hints of what the tee may end up looking like, refer to our tee, Angelica II. I’m sure it’ll be much different from what we’re expecting now when the project is finally done.
If you want a wallpaper sized image of our Talking Jelly photo, click here [right click and “save as”].
I’ll be updating the EC blog with everything we do concerning the making of this new tee, Medusa II. So stop by soon!
Here’s a lil sneak peek of one of the projects EC is currently working on in collaboration with Wade Thompson of Iconologic and Megan Huntz, Italian denim guru. Wade approached us about helping him out with the responsibility of bringing life and energy back into the Coke brand department. He also brought in Megan, an awesome fashion designer and blob creator, to assist in the design.

They wanted us to put some life back into their surroundings, so we are responsible for redesigning their conference rooms and other environments. Each conference room has a different theme. This picture is of the Muhammad Ali conference room that Larry and I designed. How many people can say that they have tagged the inside of Coke HQ?

Keep a look out for the jelly. You know we had to sneak it in somehow.
Chris Black & Done to Death hooked-up the Epidemik Coalition crew with a copy of the new Cartel album that drops tomorrow (August 21st). Chroma was a great album and this one’s going to be even better.
Make sure you pick one upHEREand they’ll send you anautographed copy. Show your support for the local boys, my copy is on the way.
Oh, and watch my video walkthrough of the album packaging.
Rehab brought the house down, enduring the intense heat of the Georgia Theatre on Saturday night in Athens. Standing in the back of the room under a fan, I was still sweating bullets. I can’t imagine what it was like on stage for the Rehab boys, or Jorge Menes who popped off some amazing shots of the band throughout the afternoon and evening.
See all the photos by Jorge Menes here or by clicking the picture above.
Thanks to Rehab and Demun Jones for giving us this opportunity to showcase our design work and for taking Jorge’s rock and roll career to the next level. Special thanks to Danny Boone for the mid-show shout out to “Big Larry Larr” before “Red Water”.
Jorge Menes and I are going to Athens to shoot photos of Rehab for their biggest show of the summer. We’re hoping to use the images for their upcoming live album and future promotional items.
The picture above is a proof for the tour poster that Jorge and I worked up for them, but it got shot down by ReverbNation and Myspace for being “too graphic”. Click the picture above to see the dumbed down version of the tour poster that we worked out. The designing process always comes down to what the client wants, right?
Get your tickets for the show at Rehab’s page.
Upcoming news on projects with Coca-Cola and the EC Medusa 2 tee coming soon! Stay tuned…
Menes Productions is the tentative name for Jorge Menes’ company identity. His goal is to generate music industry related work by delivering powerful imagery with a personal touch that’ll make you look twice. See more of the creative process after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
you’ll run into tons of familiar faces at The Center for Design Study. Wade Thompson teaches a number of Portfolio Center classes over here, Rick and Brice have client meetings, and others are just rolling through to check out snap photos of the building. This past Saturday, Jorge Menes had his camera up here and we decided to take an impromptu picture of everyone in the house.
Pictured above (from left to right): Jorge Menes, Evan McHugh, Roy Keely, Georgios Saliaris, Megan Huntz, Wade Thompson, Joe Martinez, Ross Martin, Brice Beasley, Jared Dalcourt, Larry Luk, Lacey Murrah. For a larger view, click the picture above, or click here
Yea, I have to stare at Georgios’ mug all damn day. More pics of the new space coming in the next few days. We’ve got Jorge Menes out here documenting the process of The Center for Design Study’s first few months in return for a logo…speaking of which, I’ll have Jorge’s logo comps to show early next week. Have a great weekend everyone.
Here’s a teaser of EC moving into the new studio over at The Center for Design Study. Thanks to Brice Beasley for helping to document our moving day. The building is amazing and has tons of character. You can see more shots of The Center for Design Study by clicking the image above, or by clicking here.
Stay tuned…lots of new project features are on the way.
For the time being, check out my student portfolio at LarryLukDesign.com.
Georgios and I have completed our portfolios and we have the opportunity to take EC to the next level. We’re moving EC operations to a new studio to help out Rick Anwyl (former owner of EAI) at the Center for Design Studies. This is going to be an amazing opportunity to learn more about branding, identity work, and to grow as designers under his wing. More updates coming real soon. Keep it locked…
We’re going to miss our old studio at Portfolio Center and we want to give big-ups to Hank Richardson, Tania Rochelle, Melissa Kuperminc, and the rest of the staff who’ve shown nothing but overwhelming support for the past 2 years.
Noah Levens and Yuri Majic are taking over the old digs and we wish them the best as they work on their portfolios (and everyone else’s silk-screening projects).
