PROCESS “Angelica” Production: Part 1

May 20th, 2008 by Larry

“Angelica” has been a mainstay of Epidemik Coalition from the very beginning so we figured there was no reason to leave her out when creating our new line, PROCESS. Tonight we got together with some of our favorite collaborators on the “Angelica” graphic for the line.

Ross Martin worked the photo magic, Marie Hanson did hairstyle concept & make-up, and our new friend Jessica Nash modeled. We’ve reinterpreted a lot of the Epidemik Coalition brand for the new line and the “Angelica” is the last on the list of things to complete.

Stay tuned for more updates real soon.

Introducing: Jessica Tillyer

May 13th, 2008 by Larry

Jessica reminds me a lot of how Georgios and I went about our careers at Portfolio Center. She takes on as much as she can to gain valuable experiences. This past week, she took on freelance gigs, participated in two workshops, heard two speakers, made a paper dress for the MA 08 Launch Party, did homework for school, and helped us keep our operation afloat. She’ll be with us all summer with our weekly scheduling & concepting our apparel lookbook. Knowing her, she’ll probably take on more than that. Welcome Jessica!

If you want to find out more about Jessica Tillyer aka Violet Tiger, check out her blog at http://jessicatillyer.wordpress.com/

In other news, keep an eye out for music related updates coming from our boy, Yuri Majic (resident music curator), really soon.

Attica Style X Blacktop X Epidemik Coalition

May 11th, 2008 by Larry

We worked with Hano Leathers of Attica Style & Rehab on this concept for one of Florida’s best homegrown skate shops, Blacktop Skate Shop in Winter Park, Florida.

This past weekend, Belgium-based fashion illustrator, Jarno Kettunen, came by our studio to borrow spraypaint for his gig at the MA Design & Fashion Show and snagged my copy of this tee and proceeded to rock it all weekend. Jarno, you owe me one, so drop in on Black Top Skate Shop and pay it forward, bro.

Medusa Armada Installation: Part 1

May 8th, 2008 by Larry

We were asked to create a hanging art installation to be featured in an upcoming art exhibit at Halo Lounge in Atlanta. We don’t have all the event details yet, but we’ll post them as soon as we find out more.

Realizing that a clean & sexy version of the installation can only be achieved through experimentation, we decided it would be good to begin working in real space. Today we created a rough prototype of what will be called, Medusa Armada.

Thanks to Ted Ullrich for helping us create this 3D piece from concept to execution.

Introducing: Ted Ullrich

May 5th, 2008 by Larry

Georgia Tech I.D. grad student, Ted Ullrich, is a man on a mission to stay busy this summer. He’s doing double-duty with us in addition to an internship with our pals at Armchair Media. If you’re around our studio at The Center for Design Study this summer, you’ll probably run into him. He’ll be helping us with all kinds of “outside-the-box” projects, including a possible art installation later this month. More details to come. For now, check out Ted Ullrich’s Portfolio Site.

Featured Portfolio: Jordan Gunter

February 5th, 2008 by Larry

If you hang out on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta after dark, you’ve probably run into Jordan Gunter more than once. With a penchant for speed metal, vodka diets, and eating veggies his familiar face can be found at the Local, Righteous Room, and the Majestic when he’s not at a show. Having just graduated from Portfolio Center, his hard/soft lifestyle reflects itself in his body of work. His environmentally friendly style combines it self with the crusty aesthetic of a punker. Send kudos or hate mail to Jordan at

The Heaviest Typeface in the World

January 25th, 2008 by Larry

If you’ve been to Octane Coffee lately, you’ve probably noticed the new wall graphic. How could you not? It’s Black Slabbath, the heaviest typeface in the world. There’s only one thing about this new typeface that isn’t colossally black: the razor-thin white space. It slices through and between geometric characters, creating a juxtaposition of contrasts and rhythms. It was designed by our buddy and creative director of Armchair Media, Stefan Kjartansson and is available for purchase at YouWorkForThem.

Here’s a video of Mick Bailey installing the wall graphic at Octane.

We’re going to hold a small design contest as incentive for you to purchase the typeface from YouWorkForThem. It goes like this: We’ll print a tee for the first person to send us a completed design (2 colors or less) using Black Slabbath. We’ll also print a few extra tees for ourselves and some close friends, but you’ll get all the bragging rights! Email your final graphics to . Let’s do this!

Project Fourt @ Coke HQ: Part 7

November 19th, 2007 by Georgios

This past Saturday, we began a second round of installations for Project Fourt @ Coca-Cola. We were at it all day and we accomplished a ton thanks to the help from our volunteers, Witt Langstaff and Amy Honeycutt. We wouldn’t have completed as much as we did without their help! There is still a good bit left to do so if you are still interested in helping us out on a Saturday, send us an email at or get in touch with me or Larry.

Check out more pics from this weekend here.

Project Fourt @ Coke HQ: Part 5

November 11th, 2007 by Larry

I’m thrilled to say that Project Fourt is ramping back up despite the fact that we’ve lost our whip-cracking, project manager, Megan Huntz, to Treviso, Italy for the time being. I’ve missed the grind and I’m looking forward to the busy week ahead of us over at Epidemik Coalition. Georgios and I will be challenged to step up our organizational skills and to continue to melt brains with our spatial designs. Our team leader, Wade Thompson, will continue to guide our approach with Yoda-like strategy and philosophy.
Currently, we’re tweaking production graphics and getting presentations ready for mid-week. We’ll resume installing our ideas for the Coca-Cola Global Branding department this coming weekend. We’re looking for student volunteers to come over to Coke HQ and lend a hand on Saturday, November 17th and beyond. Interested? Email us your availability at as soon as possible. We guarantee an unforgettable experience.
