Making of “Medusa II” Tee: Part 4

The wait is almost over! This is the final teaser image for our Medusa II tee that we’ve been planning for several months now. We’re making the final tweaks on the graphic and turning to our friends Andrew & Ed at Danger Press for help with the production end. Like we always do at EC, every printed garment will remain unique in its own way. Believe me, you’re going to fall out when you see the finished piece.

Making of “Medusa II” Tee: Part 2

I apologize for the lack of updates (we’ve been really busy), but here’s a juicy one. Last weekend, Jorge Menes captured some great images for us to use on our “Medusa II” tee. Here’s a sneak peek/extreme close-up of our favorite shot. Thanks to Carla Gunter for doing a great job of modeling underwater. I know it’s not easy, according to America’s Next Top Model. Stay tuned for more “Medusa II” updates…

We’ve got a huge presentation to get together for Monday morning, so we’re working through the weekend to make sure it rocks…and you know it will. We’re expecting to be installing our ideas at Coke HQ through the end of the month. Stay tuned…
Also, we’ve lowered the prices on almost everything in the Epidemik Coalition Online Store so pick up some late summer/early fall styles for cheap.

Garrett Moore - Fireseed [Album Design]
These babies just came in today and we’re really excited about the finished product. About 2 months ago, we were approached by Garrett Moore to design his upcoming album called Fireseed. It will be released in conjunction with his show at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur this Thursday night [August 30th].
You can get your tickets to the show at the Eddie’s Attic Online Box Office
Here’s an exclusive preview of the opening track to the album, called “To Be Loved”.

Project Fourt @ Coke HQ: Part 3

Alright, here are some photos from the reception for the completion of Phase 1 of Project Fourt over at Coca-Cola last Thursday evening. Everyone over in global branding has been super nice to us and they’ve shown genuine appreciation for our efforts in inspiring greatness in their workplace.
Click on the photo of me, Wade, Megan, & Georgios to get to all of Jorge Menes’ Photos of Project Fourt.
Here’s a refresher for those who aren’t sure what Project Fourt is about:
Coke felt like their new global brand department needed a breath of fresh air. They wanted us to put some life back into their surroundings, so we are responsible for redesigning their conference rooms and other environments. Each conference room has a different theme.
The name of the Project is Fourt. The four of us, brought together under unique circumstances, given an outlet to express our unbounded creativity. This project has become our fort, or the temporary shelter that we’re playing in at the moment. We don’t expect it to last, we celebrate the fact that it’s fleeting.

Project Fourt @ Coke HQ: Part 2

With only a day left in Phase 1 of the project, we completed the final room, Atlantis, or better known as “Atlantis Station, Y’all.” We have many more pics but we want to keep ‘em under wraps until after the unveiling this Thursday evening at Coke HQ. But since we are nice guys, here’s another lil teaser. Notice something familiar?

Making of “Medusa II” Tee: Part 1
This EC icon is getting a makeover. Georgios and I took a trip to the Georgia Aquarium to take live action stills of jellyfish for our upcoming “Medusa II” tee. Here’s a tight crop of a photo we took while hogging the real estate in front of the jellyfish tank. We stood there taking pictures for over 45 minutes, annoying the tourists to no end…but they deserved it for bringing their snotty, crying children. So, I’m not sorry. [Just kidding, I’m not a baby hater…]
We’ll be recruiting models, experimenting with dyes, and shooting with Jorge Menes, whom you should know by now as EC’s go-to guy.
For hints of what the tee may end up looking like, refer to our tee, Angelica II. I’m sure it’ll be much different from what we’re expecting now when the project is finally done.
If you want a wallpaper sized image of our Talking Jelly photo, click here [right click and “save as”].
I’ll be updating the EC blog with everything we do concerning the making of this new tee, Medusa II. So stop by soon!

Project Fourt @ Coke HQ: Part 1

Here’s a lil sneak peek of one of the projects EC is currently working on in collaboration with Wade Thompson of Iconologic and Megan Huntz, Italian denim guru. Wade approached us about helping him out with the responsibility of bringing life and energy back into the Coke brand department. He also brought in Megan, an awesome fashion designer and blob creator, to assist in the design.
Coke felt like their new global brand department needed a breath of fresh air. They wanted us to put some life back into their surroundings, so we are responsible for redesigning their conference rooms and other environments. Each conference room has a different theme. This picture is of the Muhammad Ali conference room that Larry and I designed. How many people can say that they have tagged the inside of Coke HQ?

This project has become our fort, or the temporary shelter that we’re playing in at the moment. We don’t expect it to last, we celebrate the fact that it’s fleeting.
Keep a look out for the jelly. You know we had to sneak it in somehow.
Keep a look out for more updates.

Doin’ Work in Athens

Jorge Menes and I are going to Athens to shoot photos of Rehab for their biggest show of the summer. We’re hoping to use the images for their upcoming live album and future promotional items.
The picture above is a proof for the tour poster that Jorge and I worked up for them, but it got shot down by ReverbNation and Myspace for being “too graphic”. Click the picture above to see the dumbed down version of the tour poster that we worked out. The designing process always comes down to what the client wants, right?
Get your tickets for the show at Rehab’s page.
Upcoming news on projects with Coca-Cola and the EC Medusa 2 tee coming soon! Stay tuned…

Epidemik Coalition Mix Tape Project Vol. 1
Brooklyn’s own, created this killer hour of beats exclusively for the Epidemik Coalition crew. Calling it“cake mix this style”, Quantuum 7thousand uses his sense of humor to give big-ups to his homeboys from Brooklyn to ATL. When he’s not cracking jokes, he’s making us want to “leave our 9 to 5’s on the shelf” and shotgun a few Blue Ribbons. Cuts include refrains from Yo Majesty, MJ, LCD Soundsystem, Biggie, and countless other club burners.
There are several ways you can enjoy Epidemik Coalition Mix Tape Project Vol. 1

Making of “Angelica II” Tee
About 3 months ago, I got together with Jorge Menes with the intent of remixing EC’s Angelica tee. We quickly decided that Angelica needed to be redone as a photograph. This was a great idea because it was going to challenge us with finding a model, getting the shot we wanted, and the daunting task of silk-screening an image as close to photographic realism as possible. It took awhile to collect our efforts, but once we got started yesterday, we didn’t stop until it was done. Thanks to everyone who threw-down on this project.
A candid shot of Kinzie Hamer is pictured above, modeling for the Angelica II tee.
You can score yours at the Epidemik Coalition Online Store.
