The Virgins - Rich Girls (Daytrotter Session)

August 24th, 2008 by Larry

The Virgins‘ EP (aNYthing records) has been tasting the floorboards of Ross’ car for as long as I can remember. Despite the fact that his ride has been broken into more times than the Falcons have changed QB’s in the last year, it’s like the Atlanta hobos aren’t interested in indie rock. It’s probably because they want to leave the dancing to NYC fashion disasters, or maybe it’s because you can’t go anywhere without hearing this song right now. Here’s a version of their single, Rich Girls, they recorded for a recent daytrotter.com session.

The Streets - Everything Is Borrowed

August 24th, 2008 by Larry

The Streets (aka Mike Skinner) is constantly on rotation in our studio, whether it be CDs, MP3s, or even vinyl. We’re anxiously awaiting the new album, Everything is Borrowed, slated for release in September of this year. Luckily, we were able to get our hands on the new title track which is not only catchy, but surprisingly positive. This one’s going to be added to the morning routine for sure.

Divide & Kreate - Party Kisser

August 22nd, 2008 by Larry

I know how you’re obsessed with her, so this one’s for you Ross.

Speaking of block parties and people who attend them… here’s a fresh mash-up by Divide & Kreate of Katy Perry (who attended the 21 Mercer Block Party last night) and the UK’s biggest little band, Bloc Party.

Shock Cinema: Live & Online [8.22.08]

August 22nd, 2008 by Larry

Our friends, Shock Cinema, have a new album out on Kanine Records called Hell and High Water. I hear it’s part of a five part series of albums (so it seems they’ve already mapped out their plans for the next few years). Anyway, it is definitely their best effort to date and it is available for download on iTunes.

Also, Shock Cinema is playing a show at Rehab in New York tonight. You can watch it live here at 10:30pm EST. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay in NYC for another night. Otherwise I’d be there in person!

Ludacris (featuring T.I.) - Wish You Would

August 10th, 2008 by Larry

process_a.jpg

The beef is over between Ludacris and T.I. and here’s the track to prove it. It’s great to see the coming together of ATL hip-hop giants to brag about Atlanta life. It’s safe to assume this track will be on Ludacris’ new album set to drop in October.

Drums of Death - Ozzzy!

August 3rd, 2008 by Larry

Here’s a track we’ve been jamming-on at our new studio. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to share this track, but I’ll take the chance of getting in trouble because it’s totally worth it! London’s Drums of Death bring the house down with a quality remix of Black Sabbath called Ozzzy!. Drums of Death’s 12-inch record will be released on August 18th on Hot Chip’s Greco-Roman record label.

Round 2: PROCESS x EL BAR

July 28th, 2008 by Larry

It’s on! The PROCESS Season One photo shoot at El Bar had such a good turnout, that we’re going to ask our friends to blow it out again with a One Night Only release of the PROCESS Tomahawk tee in a colorway inspired by the Mexican flag. The tees will be for sale on a first-come, first-served basis at a serious “homeboy discount”. We’ll be taking happy snaps for our website as well. If that’s not enough reason to show up, the fact that Rob Wonder will be in the house should have you writing “EL BARZZZ SHAWTY” on your calendars for Thursday, August 14th. More details on coming soon.

Nite Ratz by Ross Martin [Production]

July 27th, 2008 by Larry

From left to right: Slugger, Prince Presto, and Cristo Disco

Atlanta’s most notorious DJs, Nite Ratz (Slugger, Prince Presto, and Cristo Disco) came by for some photos by Ross Martin the other day. I snapped this one on my MacBook Pro while Ross was changing out his memory cards. I know it looks pretty raw, but I can guarantee that Ross’ snaps will look great on all the applications we have planned.

We’re turning our partnership with the Nite Ratz into a branding/identity project that you’ll see more of in the weeks to come (I’m not allowed to give it all away just yet). The project has been such a success that we can guarantee several new mixtapes by the Nite Ratz throughout the rest of the summer. For now, download Prince Presto’s mixtape he did for the PROCESS line here.

PROCESS Mixtape One by Prince Presto

July 20th, 2008 by Larry

We decided that the PROCESS campaign needed a new sound that would both represent our scene and push the boundaries of the typical “Atlanta Sound”. We enlisted the help of one of Atlanta’s most infamous DJs, Prince Presto, to take care of the dirty work. After showing him the line, and what we were about, he grinded-out a mixtape that fit our aesthetic and attitude.

Head over to the PROCESS blog to download PROCESS Mixtape One by Prince Presto.

If you ever see Prince Presto playing out, tell him “Nice Shirt” but don’t try to make any requests unless you want him to get on the mic and tell everyone you wanted to hear 867-5309.

MSTRKRFT - Love In This Club (Remix)

July 19th, 2008 by Larry

This one has been out for a minute but it’s so good! We were all dumbfounded when we heard Toronto’s MSTRKRFT remix of Usher’s “Love In This Club”. Atlanta’s #1 fancy boy instantly gains cred. Within a day, everyone in our crew added it to their “Summer Bangers” playlist on iTunes. The best part is the breakdown at 1:30 that seamlessly turns into The Dominos - Layla. So smart!

Clipse - Fast Life

July 2nd, 2008 by Larry

photo by Joe Martinez [Sneaker Pimps, Atlanta 2007]

Clipse have been one of my favorite hip-hop groups for a few years. I’ve seen them here in the ATL as well as in Austin. I could tell from their performances, they enjoy playing smaller venues for crowd interaction despite their massive popularity. When I found out they had a new single, I had to share it. Supposedly they’re working on an album that’s slated for a Fall/Winter 2008 release. Stay on it!

“American Excess” graphic tee available now at demuns.com

Demuns by Epidemik Coalition is the official name of our newest collaboration with Georgia’s own, Demun Jones. We’re the design team and we’re using Demun’s life experiences and stories as inspirations for a new line of tees and other softgoods (coming soon). His humility and openness to share his highs and lows has allowed us to design without censorship which has been a creative playground for us.

Series 1 of these limited edition graphic tees are available for purchase online at Demuns.com or in person at every Demun Jones show starting with the upcoming Destin, Florida date at Woody’s on March 16th.

Check Demuns.com often, as well will be constantly updating the site with new styles. See you on tour!

Demun Jones & Epidemik Coalition

January 11th, 2008 by Larry

photo by Jorge Menes [Wild Bill’s / Atlanta, Georgia]

Demun Jones has been rocking Epidemik Coalition tees while on tour with Rehab throughout the ReverbNation tour this past Fall/Winter. The tour continues this Saturday (January 12th), with Rehab’s return to the Georgia Theatre in Athens. They’ll be playing songs from their upcoming/unrecorded album for the first time, so you won’t want to miss out. Keep an ear out for my favorite new track, “King of Tweakers”.

Check out more photos of Demun Jones in Epidemik Coalition after the jump.

Shock Cinema Photos

September 29th, 2007 by Larry

Shortly after midnight, Shock Cinema took the stage and proceeded to melt our faces. It was awesome to see Destiny, Autry, and crew doing their thing in the ATL again. I finally picked up a copy of their album Our Way is Revenge and swiped a few of their nifty buttons. Click Here for photos of the show.
