Hello everyone! Its been a minute since I have done an “official” Photo Friday post but I got something awesome lined up for you this week. I recently took a trip to Cumberland Island for an awesome camping experience with my girlfriend. I haven’t been camping in quite a while but when you combine perfect weather with camping on a beach you really can’t go wrong. We snapped off quite a few photographs and got a bunch of great ones. If anyone out there is interested in looking into taking your own camping trip at Cumberland Island you can get some more information at their website.

Some of you might recognize this weeks photographer not for his photography but for a little viral video from a few years ago. Thats right, Noah Kalina is the maker and star of the famous YouTube video where he takes a picture of himself every day for 6 years. Little did I know when I first saw that video that he was a photographer himself. He’s been making a name for himself more and more in the commercial world and has been producing some really great work lately. One of my favorite essays on his website is his “What Happens in Vegas” essay. Its a series of self portraits taken all over landmarks in Vegas with the same facial expression every time. This essay is only a small example of Kalina’s work and talents. Check out more of this series after the jump.

We had so much fun duking it out against Esperanza last night at Graveyard Tavern that we’re already talking about doing it again! We’ll go even bigger next time! Thank you to everyone who came out and witnessed the throwdown, and special thanks to those who participated as part of Team Process. The final score was 3 – 2 in favor of Process!
I’m in TX this weekend and I decided to check out the monument-of-excess that Jerry Jones built for the ‘Boys. The field isn’t laid out right now because they are busy setting the stage up for the U2 concert on Monday night. As you can see, the highly-controversial scoreboard has been raised to 110 ft to set up the stage area for the U2 bros to run around.

About a month ago, we were contacted by Kristina Feliciano, from Stockland Martel Blog. Kristina is the one responsible for making it one of the best photography blogs out there. For those of you who may not know, Stockland and Martel represents some of the brightest and hottest talent in the photography industry, to include Georgia’s own: Liz Von Hoene and Jim Fiscus. Kristina had read one of our Photo Friday posts about Stockland Martel photographer, Hans Gissinger. She thought it would be fun if Hans and I got a chance to speak again, and catch up since the last time we spoke. Like before, I decided to do a photo for Hans in appreciation for taking the time to speak to me. Here is a link to that conversation. Big thanks to Hans, Kristina, and the Stockland Martel crew. We love collabos! Kristina, let’s do this again soon. Enjoy, ya’ll.

After looking a little bit more I found that Loutit had a whole series of videos that use a combination of tilt-shift lenses and time-lapse photography.
What’s up world?? This is Joe Martinez, taking over for my good friend Ross for this week’s Photo Friday. I wanted to share some images I created during my recent trip to Greece last month. This is my second trip to Europe this year, and my first time in the Mediterranean. I definitely took advantage of the beautiful weather, good food, and amazing scenery. It was also a great opportunity to practice a fun technique that some of you may have seen floating around the internet. “Tilt-shift photography” is a selective focus technique using a specialized lens that controls the orientation of the plane of focus of a particular scene or subject. The results vary, but it’s possible to achieve what some have dubbed “fake miniature” photography, creating the illusion of a miniature or toy model look. Some clever Photoshop enthusiasts found a way to do this without the use of this lens making the technique available to anyone with a little patience, the right image, and few Photoshop tools. A simple Google search will provide you with several tutorials on how to achieve your own tilt-shift images. More T-S photos from Greece after the jump!
