Our New President

January 22nd, 2009 by Georgios

img_4248.jpg

In honor of our new president, I’ve been working on a new poster design. I made it in the style of the PROCESS Bombera tee that will be coming out in March and even made a dirty bird presidential seal. Not only is he the first black president but he is also the son of an immigrant. That means a lot to us here at EC since most of us are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants ourselves. It’s the first time in awhile that it felt good to be an American.

reMIXT at MINT Gallery [8.23.08]

August 18th, 2008 by Larry

Check out the show cards we made for MINT Gallery’s upcoming art show, reMIXT. If you’re lucky enough to get one of these let us know and we’ll send you a surprise.

Last August MINT Gallery opened their current space with MIXT, a show celebrating the relationship between music and visual art through the use of mixtapes. They are doing it again, but this year they are gearing the exhibit to showcase the thriving local music scene in Atlanta. Local artists, including members of Atlanta musical acts such as Judi Chicago, Vera Fang, and Sealions, representatives from Lenny’s Bar as well as singer songwriters and experimental musicians, have contributed to the exhibit.

reMIXT will also feature a local music raffle where one dollar tickets could win you your choice of music and swag provided by local bands.

MINT has put together a playlist of its favorite local music to get you in the mood. Check out mintgalleryremixt.muxtape.com and spread the word.

Artists include:
Ben Coleman, Travis Thatcher, Jason Travis, Andre Paraguassu, Sunni Johnson, Mack Williams, Amanda Goodbread, Bean Summer, Robert Peterson, Mat Glaser, Erin Baker, Joe Sikes, Philip Jones, Lindsay Appel, The Sunglasses, Colin Brag, Danielle Harris

“Pop Art at Halo” [May 29]

May 18th, 2008 by Larry

flyer by EC

Come out and show your support for your boys (& girl) at Pop Art at Halo on May 29th. We’re unveiling our Medusa Armada 3D installation that night. It’s nice that Halo Lounge realizes the impact of the creative community here in town and wants to help showcase our work. “Ultra Lounge” type places don’t usually host events for local artists but hopefully this will be the beginning of a trend here in ATL. I guess “design” is mainstream these days. Anyway, admission is free for everyone before 10PM.

Participating Artists:
Chris Hamer of Urbn Pop, Epidemik Coalition & Ted Ullrich, Ted Murphy of Spooky Toons, Jenny “Bunns” Young of Apprentice Diaries, Ashley Zeltzer of Cartoon Network, Andrew Bellury, Pierre Cerrato, Drew Dominey, Thom Foolery, Amanda Goodbread, Jennifer Henley, Damon Hooks, Stephanie Howard, Brett Thompson, Todd Redner, Dan Young & more.

April 18th, 2008 by Larry

Sopo Bicycle Cooperative is pleased to present their first ever Bicycle Frame Show, a group show of bicycle frames designed on and transformed by local artists and artist collectives. The show is at Green Certified Radial Cafe in Candler Park. Frames are on sale now for $200 each. Unsold and For-Auction-Only frames will be auctioned during the closing reception on Saturday, April 26, between 7 pm and 11 pm. The party features performances by Hot Toddy’s Flaming Cabaret, Atlanta Sedition Orchestra, and Lindsay Appel.

All proceeds benefit Sopo Bicycle Cooperative, your 501(c)3 nonprofit community bicycle repair shop, located in sunny East Atlanta.

It’s always great to participate in fresh, local art shows. We’ve been talking with Rachael Spiewak with Sopobikes.org; helping her brainstorm ideas for this show since last December. Not only did we get the opportunity to do a custom bike frame, but she asked us to design the show poster. Don’t miss out.

March 18th, 2008 by Georgios

We went back up to Coca-Cola HQ this past week and installed a few more things that we didn’t get to finish on the last round. We had a fun time experimenting with spray paint and inks. We have a few more things to install and a whole conference room to design. So keep a lookout for future Project Fourt news.

Check out more photos after the jump.

Shock Cinema: Return to the Dirty Dirty

September 25th, 2007 by Larry

Seriously, Shock Cinema is my favorite Atlanta band. Well, technically they’re from New York now but they got their start here in the ATL and moved over a year ago. They’ve since been signed to a record label and they’ve recently released an album called Our Way Is Revenge. Pitchfork only gave it a 5.4 but we all know that they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Being a film school nerd and noise-junkie, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed their live shows which feature visual remixes of classic horror films. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you have no excuse to miss this event. I have no doubt that their Return to the Dirty Dirty is going to be incredible.

Shock Cinema

Friday, September 28th
9PM
