Whenever we visit Charlotte, we know we’re in for a weekend of good eats and good friends. This past weekend, we brought Cristo Disco from ATL to play at the monthly SWARM event on the Camden block. I just went by Standard on Peachtree to see how things were going and I caught @RyanAcker pushing their last two PROCESS x Estate LA caps on the phone, drinking a Whynatte, and wearing a Streetlocal tee. I had to snap a pic. Good things happen when you keep it local. Everything in this pic was created right here in the good ole U.S.A.

So Chris decided to get his first tattoo the other day at Liberty Tattoo. He showed up to Gather Atlanta sporting a pair of Tommies on his arm. Larry and I had nothing to do with this. It’s not like we make our interns get branded or something. Chris just likes the Braves.
This past Saturday, EC/Process participated in the first ever Gather Atlanta that took place at Eyedrum. We were lucky enough to meet some new faces and even run into some old friends. Thanks to everyone that came out and to Gather Atlanta for having us apart of the event. More photos after the jump.
We’ve teamed up with Estate LA again to produce this fitted hat for our PROCESS line. It’s a merging of West & East coasts by locking-up the “L” from the LA Dodgers and the “A” from the Atlanta Braves. The cap will come in 2 different colorways: Purple & Gold (Lakers) and Red & Black (Falcons).

I wanted to show the process behind a recently completed a logo I did for Miami Light Project / Nike Filmmakers Bootcamp. It’s a 4 week summer camp where Miami youth get to learn vital skills necessary to filmmaking. I wanted to illustrate a continuous strip of film spelling out the initials for Filmmakers Bootcamp, while incorporating equal parts of both sponsor identities. I did this by incorporating Miami Light Project’s logotype (completely spelled out) and placing a simple Swoosh in the top right hand corner of the mark. It wasn’t necessary to write “Nike” as well, as we are all aware of the equity already associated with the Swoosh.

A while ago, Georgios gave us a sneak peek at something he’d been working on for the PROCESS Summer 09 collection. Here’s another teaser of a graphic that will be part of the collection as well. I know the image isn’t revealing much yet, but here’s a hint: after having a pow-wow with Georgios, we decided on the concept of “East Coast meets Far East”, drawing from influences I’ve had growing-up in both Asian and American cultures. This past Saturday night, we were involved in the Hat Trick event at Halo Lounge. The guy in the photo sporting the Nokahoma fitted and Tomahawk tee is Chris Mosier. Chris is new to EC and will be helping us out for the next few months. He did a great job helping with the event even after the night before. Thanks to FN Socials for including us in the show.

Yesterday, a special package came in the mail from Quintin, a new hat company owned by some of our friends on the west coast. What sets them apart from the norm is that they specialize in fitted 5 panel caps, thus eliminating the need for a pesky adjustable strap and delivering some class to the 5 panel category. Their first wave of releases will take place on May 2nd, kicking off a summer of weekly releases bearing collaborations with many heavy-hitting design teams (the line sheet looks amazing). We’re honored to be included in this succession of releases and are currently tweaking the final details on the first PROCESS x Quintin collaboration set for later this summer. Our buddy, Myk Pate, sent me this photo of him and BLNGxBDGT (Bling on a Budget) on the Camden block in Charlotte. If you didn’t already know, PROCESS is available at Black Sheep located at the fork on Camden Road. It’s great to see the line being embraced by what is quickly becoming our home away from home.
As a side note, we’re bringing BLNGxBDGT to El Bar on May 22nd in what will be the 1st of many SWARM [ATL Edition] parties that we’re throwing in conjunction with Kitchworth. Fun times coming this summer!
