Most of us have heard that Nike has been making team jerseys out of 7 recycled water bottles, but this is the first time we are getting a behind-the-scenes look at the actual production process. Whoever created this technology has truly done something to help our environment, as I can see this lightweight fabric replacing cotton or wool, in many instances.

So here’s a glimpse of our booth set-up for Style X. It’s missing a few finishing touches, but we decided it was in our best interest to get a rough feel for set-up day. It’s sure to be a stressful load-in, so we wanted to work out any kinks in the comfort of our own studio beforehand.

Here’s a photo from a recent press check for our new We Are the Process collection. Here’s the base layer screen for our Dirty South Cowgirl graphic tee. This screen was printed with discharge ink to allow for the other colors to print directly into the fabric of the shirt.

We recently decided that we needed a real world version of the “Dirty South” flag from our Thirteen graphic tee. We knew we wanted to use it in shooting our Spring ’11 lookbook and we also wanted something substantial and meaningful to display in our space at StyleX. Here are some photos detailing the process of creating this icon.

First, we traced and cut out 13 stars from a white canvas material.

Here, we decided on the placement for each of the 13 stars.

We took each star and frayed the edges and even burned some of them to give them a weathered look.

We then sewed the stripes together with white and black fabrics.

Here’s a rough pic of me holding up a panel of sewn stripes.

After the flag was assembled, we put it through an extra-special antiquing process. By ‘extra-special’ I mean we dyed it with coffee and tea in a bucket!

Finally, a little more burning & fraying completes the look!

We are often asked where & how we got our business cards produced and we point them directly to Red Bird Ink. Here’s a look into the production of them from the eye of my unsteady iPhone footage. Enjoy!

We’ve been hard at work getting ready for Style X in March. Just preparing our line isn’t the only necessary task. Booking hotels, vans, interns, & deciding on the look of our booth are on our minds. At least we’ve made one big decision about the look of our 10′ x 10′ space in Austin. More to come…

We’ve been spending a lot of time getting our Fall/Winter efforts together for PROCESS. We’ll have the new digs up online and in person at a few events (if you’re in ATL) very soon.

This is amazing! Given their history in winning, I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that the Toronto Maple Leafs have a larger production budget than our local teams… Wow!

A few months ago, Charlotte-based MC, Stranger Day, remixed a track by Atlanta’s Cristo Disco for his Gold Metal Mixtape release with Streetlocal. This past weekend, Stranger Day filmed the music video for the track Cristo Disco Ball in Charlotte and brought Cristo Disco up to the pool party-themed video.
