My heart is racing and I can barely type this news!!! One of my favorite sneakers, the Nike Challenge Court, (#GrailStatus) has received a Nike Skateboarding makeover. Original Nike team rider and style icon, Gino Iannucci, adapts a classic tennis sneaker from the ’80s for the streets of 2012. While the original model was rocked courtside by Nike tennis icon John McEnroe, this new adaptation is the result of a bold vision from a new icon. Watch as two of New York’s giants come face-to-face, and the worlds of Gino and Johnny Mac collide! Must cop immediately!!! I wish there was a skate shop open at 9:30 at night…

Last weekend I scooped a pair of Nike and Levi’s 511 Skateboarding Denim at Black Sheep. The 511 Skateboarding is built specifically for skateboarders and integrates Nike’s innovative Dri-FIT and vectran technologies, coupled with Levi’s timeless design, meticulous craftsmanship, and popular fit of the 511 Skinny. Upon trying them on, I was amazed by their “already broken in” feel. Most jeans boast about a feature like that, but these really and truly felt great immediately. I’ve worn them all week and they still fit great. They haven’t stretched out… yet.

Yesterday, we visited the Saturday Skateboards Warehouse in Charlotte, NC. What’s cool about this space is that it functions as a skatepark, the HQ for the Saturday Skateboards brand, and it houses local screen-printing/sign shop, Ink Floyd. There aren’t many mixed-use spaces here in ATL, but I sure would like to see more of them. It just makes sense. Screen-printing and skatebaording go hand-in-hand.

Side note: Ink Floyd helped us produce our 4 Horsemen sticker pack a few months back. Good folks!

Why would you abuse those gems?!?” Then I started seeing him go harder than anyone else in skate videos and I proclaimed to everyone within earshot that he was the best skater out there.
