The Nike5 Streetgato is an indoor soccer shoe that performs well on the pitch and is capable of coupling with your favorite pair of jeans. Its low profile design is consistent with many of Nike’s indoor soccer boots and is sure to look good however you decide to rock ‘em. Serious ballers & hipsters can pick them up for a cool $75 at Nike Store. By the way, I’m currently loving the use of Volt in many of Nike’s offerings.
Think about all the folks you see around with a pair of LunarGlides on. They are everywhere. I have a pair of original LunarGlides and I love them. I can stand up for hours a time with no pain. I can run as long as I want (until I get bored of running). I predict the LunarGlide+ 3 will out-do the previous 2 models based on it’s functional design that also makes for a badass looking running shoe. A little birdy told me these will hit retail shelves on July 1st. It’s safe to say Nike Running store at Lenox Square Mall will have every colorway imaginable!
Since last June’s reveal of the Nike Hyperfuse basketball sneaker during the announcement of World Basketball Festival in New York, sneaker fans like myself have been salivating over any and all things with this treatment. I couldn’t be more excited about my favorite icon from the Nike vault getting the Hyperfuse treatment! The Air Max 1 Hyperfuse containing the signature combination of a base layer, mesh, & protective coating hits retailers in July 2011.
Perhaps the most popular pro skater in the world, Eric Koston, signed to Nike SB last year and we’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of his signature model sneaker. The Koston 1 SB has finally dropped to select retailers and proves to have been worth the wait. It is extremely lightweight and features a Lunarlon insole for extra impact absorption and comfort. The nearly one-piece solid, suede upper takes styling cues from the Bruin SB in a new streamline silhouette with minimized leather swoosh resulting in a nice mix of form and function. What do you guys think? I can’t decide which colorway I want to rock first! Pick up your pair at Black Sheep Skate Shop.

I’m a huge fan of Air Jordan sneakers, but usually my fandom is limited to retro models that MJ actually wore on court or signature models such as the CP3.IV. That being said, I tend to ignore many Team Jordan models. Once in awhile however, Jordan Brand releases a shoe that catches my attention; and that’s exactly what they did this week with the release of the Jordan Phase 23 Hoops Joe Johnson PE’s. Perhaps I’m all ears because they have something to do with my beloved Atlanta Hawks? Perhaps, it’s because the heel strap that reminds me of the Air Jordan IV (one of my favorites)? Or maybe it’s because the forefoot strap reminds me of Nike Air Trainers from the Bo Jackson days? More likely than not, it’s a combination of all 3 of these reasons.
This is a shoe that I can see myself wearing at Philips Arena while cheering on our Hawks. Truth be told, Joe Johnson is a quieter player and doesn’t get any national shine. So it’s difficult as an Atlanta Hawks fan to want to wear a Melo shoe or DWade shoe (they are our rivals). It’s awesome to see that Jordan Brand is releasing something I can truly back 100%.
Supposedly Joe Johnson will be wearing these in the 2nd round of the playoffs, but I didn’t see them on his feet during Game 1 in Chicago. Perhaps we’ll see them tonight!
I’m not going to pretend that I understand the game of Cricket, but this video makes me want to get out there and play. It’s always astounding to see the storytelling in Nike’s campaigns. The ad was directed by Omri Cohen (Hello Robot Films) with creative direction by Senthil Kumar (JWT).
As the sporting world prepares for cricket to enter semi final round play, Team India will be seen sporting Nike’s Considered team kits made from recycled plastic bottles. Nike, the official apparel sponsor for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), introduced its considered design ethos in Team India’s game day apparel in September 2010. The team began wearing this kit for the first time on pitch this spring.
For the second consecutive year, Minnesota Twins perennial All-Star, Joe Mauer is the cover athlete for MLB ‘11 The Show, available exclusively for PlayStation. To commemorate this achievement, Nike will release the Nike Huarache TR Low “The Show”. This very limited trainer will be released on April 9th at Nike Mall of America, East Bay, select Minnesota and Chicagoland retailers, and Nice Kicks.
The Huarache TR Low “The Show” retails for $110 and is a baseball lover and gamers’ dream. Baseball inspired stitching around the toe emulates that of laces on a ball. The PlayStation logo is prominently displayed on the shoe’s outer tongue. The right shoe’s inner tongue includes Mauer’s iconic ‘7M’ logo.
When I’ve had the time to train/exercise, I’ve been wearing Zoom Huarache Trainer Mids. They feel like walking on clouds and I never feel any pain in my feet or knees. I’m looking forward to the freedom that a pair of lows will allow me. Now, if only someone would hook me up with the MLB ‘11 so I can confirm how terrible I am at “new school” baseball games…
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Carmelo Anthony will be wearing this special colorway of the Melo M7 on court as his Knicks face off with the Memphis Grizzlies. The NY Knicks will undoubtedly wear their “eyesore” jerseys tonight. The shoes look great, but the jerseys… not so much! View more photos after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
Last Friday, Nike Skateboarding pros visited our friends at Black Sheep Skate Shop in Charlotte on what was called the “Too Cold to Hold Tour”. Nike skaters such as Eric Koston & ATL’s own, Grant Taylor, were in attendance. As you can see, the skate scene in Charlotte is alive due in part to a great shop like Black Sheep. For more photos of the event, check out the snaps of Myk Pate on his Danger Means Nothing blog.
