Last weekend, we relocated our design studio back into the heart of Atlanta. We’re now at the cross streets of Ponce de Leon Place & Pylant in a progressive lofted office building known as Good Work. We couldn’t be happier with our new location. The new space will serve as a place for us to conduct our day-to-day branding projects for our clients as EC Design Co., and as a “factory store” for our brand, We Are the Process. Holler at us via Twitter at @WeAreTheProcess if you’re interested in visiting. If you’re in town, you can save on shipping fees by picking up gear in person.

We spent a few days transforming our new digs into a place that felt more like home. There are still some things to be done, but here are some photos documenting the process:

Here’s what the studio space looked like about 5 minutes after we signed our lease.

The first task was to designate an accent wall.

Then we had to go black with everything else… we like black. Here’s a tired Georgios. He hates the taping part of painting.

Here’s our fully-painted studio space.

The next step was adding furniture to house our inventory, books, and other supplies.

Then we brought everything over and immediately started sending out orders…

and had a few brews in the process.

When my Nike MAG shipment arrived, I took some iPhone photos of the unboxing process. Shortly thereafter, Joe Martinez asked me if he could take some portraits of the kicks. Without hesitation, I brought the whole Nike MAG package to one of my favorite portrait photographers. I was interested to see what kind of personality Joe would bring out in these photos. Yes, sneakers can have personality!

I apologize for taking a week to post these photos, but I think that they do the kicks more justice than my iPhone pics. They were certainly worth the wait. I present to you, the 2011 Nike Mag (pair #0854), by Joe Martinez.

A huge box showed up on my doorstep. I was pleasantly surprised to see a “Sponsored by UPS” sticker from Hill Valley. The small copy says, “The Future is Built on The Present”. That’s such a clever play on words!

Here’s another fun part of the packaging… I seriously doubt the package would explode if damaged! I’m saving this part of the packaging in case I ever need to call Nike Customer Service. Also seen here is my “0854″ sticker denoting what pair I own out of the 1,510 pairs in the world.

A box, inside of a box, inside of a box.

The shoebox itself.

Verbage on the back of the box.

Today I spent the afternoon with an old friend, Megan Huntz, of Megan Huntz Dresses. Over the past few years she has spent time producing her dresses in Italy and Barcelona, but has recently moved her business back to the USA. She has converted her Atlanta, GA home into a dress-making studio that I’ve decided to document here.

Her workspace is a true testament to her work ethic. She takes her craft seriously and she’s going to make moves. It’s great to have Megan back in ATL and I’m excited for the imminent success of her brand! Attention slackers: You can keep making excuses about not having resources handed to you, or you can make magic. Your call.

Check out the rest of Megan’s workspace after the jump.

Most people who know me know that I’m a total sports junkie and I’ve been completely engrossed with baseball this summer. This is what my workstation currently looks like. I’ll design on my large monitor and stream baseball games on my extra screen. I don’t see much of the in-game action, but I’ve found that I enjoy listening to people talk about strategy more than spinning the latest indie rock jams. What’s wrong with me?!?

Holler at me if you’re an obsessed fan too! I’m always down for catching an Atlanta Braves game and I’d gladly welcome any advice in regards to my fantasy team. No joke, this MLB.TV package has been the best $99 I’ve ever spent.

Mae Couture at The Center for Design Study in Atlanta, GA.

Yesterday, Georgios and I dropped by The Center for Design study to say hello to our friend Rick Anwyl. Many of you will remember Rick as the guy who gave our company a home in his building immediately after we graduated from Portfolio Center in 2007. During our visit yesterday, we met fashion designer Caroline Mae, creator of the line Mae Couture. Upon seeing her work from across the room, we thought her dresses looked amazing.

After talking to her for 2 minutes, we realized that her clothes are constructed out of old military parachutes! Whaaaat?!? Take a second to think about that. These soft, beautifully crafted pieces once existed to provide a soft landing for military men and were made to withstand the elements. Now, I wouldn’t call myself a fashion designer (because what Georgios & I do have more to do with graphic design and visual communication on the canvas of a tee or cap) but I will say that I haven’t seen anything this interesting or exciting come out of the world of fashion in quite some time. Mae Couture is truly cool. Now if only we can get her to create some stuff for the bros…

More photos after the jump.

This stamp appears somewhere along the draping of the orange dress shown above.

Here, Caroline shows us this sweet jacket fit for your next music video.

Not #1 this year NY. Sorry…

The new issue of HOOP arrived at our studio today. I always love cracking open an issue of this magazine because it makes me feel like a kid again. I get the same feeling when I tear open a pack of baseball cards. There’s always some fantasy & nostalgia involved; as if I’m going to be taking in pages of beautifully photographed sneakers I’ll never play in and gain tons of basketball insight. Included in this month’s issue is a tear out poster of Russell Westbrook dunking during the NBA All-Star Game. More importantly, Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson is also captured in the image! Yes, we’ve already hung this one up in The Treehouse next to our posters of Kevin Durant, Brandon Roy, & Derrick Rose.
