The new Fall/Winter 2010 PROCESS collection has some of my favorite pieces we’ve put together so far. It’s hard to believe that we’re wrapping up our 2nd year of this project! There still are so many ideas that we’ve been wanting to put out there but have yet to find the proper time and place to do so. New looks coming very soon!

While my only difficulties are deciding what cap to wear and where to watch the games, the Braves are in for an uphill battle this postseason. Either way, we’re pumped for some playoff baseball! #TomahawkChop

Following a lot of internet backlash over Gap’s new logo, 2 hilarious twitter accounts have emerged, @OldGapLogo & @GapLogo. Also, a great website called CrapLogo.me allows users to generate their very own nonceptual logos. Now everyone can be as conformist and boring with their very own helvetica bold & blue gradient box logo! Is this trend of font + gradient and/or transparency-trick logos tired yet? C’mon people…

2 Minutes to Make Gap’s New Logo in Illustrator

Category: Design, Logo Jams
October 6th, 2010 by Larry

new_gap_logo_illustrator_2_minutes.png

Gap has unveiled a new logo and it couldn’t be more perfect for how people feel about their brand. It’s mindless, boring, and there’s nothing special with it. Kind of reminds me of their clothes. Hmmm….

Needless to say, the logo is sucky and it took me approx 2 minutes to recreate it in Illustrator. They could’ve paid us to do their logo. It would’ve been the most-lucrative 2 minutes we’ve ever billed for.

Finally, I want to know who the bitches are at Laird & Partners, New York that are responsible for this offense. There are plenty of talented graphic designers in our city that are way more capable of creating something encompassing Gap’s past, present, and future goals. Many would jump at the opportunity to work on an account of that magnitude and I’m sure most would have the presence of mind to NOT squeeze out a turd like this.

Maple Leafs Photoshoot Production Timelapse

This is amazing! Given their history in winning, I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that the Toronto Maple Leafs have a larger production budget than our local teams… Wow!

Jaguar Slap

Ross and I went to Jacksonville to watch the Jaguars vs Colts this past weekend. Not only was it an amazing game, but we also witnessed this hilarious fight that broke out next to us. Luckily, one of the fans in front of us caught the whole thing on his phone and I couldn’t be happier than to share this with you. If you watch closely, you can see me at the beginning of the video on the left. Hooray for the internet!

FIFA 11: PROCESS F.C. Highlight Reel [09.30.10]

October 1st, 2010 by Larry

I picked up FIFA 11 by EA Sports for Playstation 3 on Tuesday and have been enjoying the new game immensely. There are numerous game play upgrades included in this year’s version of the game but I don’t want to bore anyone with those mundane details. If you’re really curious about in-game changes, head over to EA Sports’ website or any other blog out there. For me, the major difference between FIFA 10 & FIFA 11 is the Creation Centre that allows users to create their own players and teams. I immediately jumped at the opportunity to create a football club for PROCESS, consisting of video game representations of our crew of friends.

I’m still ironing out a few kinks to our squad, which is already available for download to your game system. I’ll do an in-depth review of the Creation Centre in the coming days, but for now I wanted to show off this hilarious goal celebration video clip featuring PROCESS F.C. midfielder, Ross Martin. Enjoy!

Hockeytown ATL?

Category: ATL Life, NHL
September 30th, 2010 by Larry

thrashers_vs_predators.JPG

Last night I attended the Thrashers vs. Predators preseason game on a whim, and it reaffirmed my sentiment that hockey is always better in person. I’ve been to my share of Thrashers games over the past 11 years of this expansion franchise and I have a blast every time. Is Atlanta a Hockeytown? Most would chime-in with a resounding “No way!”. Why isn’t Philips Arena packed? Is it alright if I call it the “Highlight Factory” even when it’s set up for hockey? “Blueland” just doesn’t do it for me. Lots of questions and very few answers.

With the NHL season approaching in less than 2 weeks, here are a few reasons to get excited about Atlanta Thrashers hockey:

1) They aren’t the Hawks. The Hawks have made some questionable decisions this off season that have the potential of blowing up in our faces and dooming the franchise for years to come. There is also a glimmer of hope that they will gel and be successful against the NBA’s Eastern Conference giants. Regardless of your opinions on the court, you might want consider spending your NBA dollars on hockey this season. It’s certainly a breath of ice-cold fresh air (bring a jacket. It gets cold in Philips). Yes, Atlanta Spirit Group owns both teams and they make dumb decisions like letting Ilya Kovalchuk convince himself that ATL isn’t the jam, but maybe the hard-hitting game and below 0° temperature will numb the pain.

2) Evander Kane is the face of the franchise. Why wouldn’t you want to back a dude who’s mother named him after ATL resident heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield.

3) There are new names in town, and these guys are winners. Chris Mason, Dustin Byfuglien, & Andrew Ladd join the roster. The latter two just finished playing a championship season, winning the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks.

4) This is a young franchise, and there’s plenty of room on the bandwagon. All aboard ATL!

Black Sheep x Spitfire Wheels

Our good friends at Black Sheep Skate Shop in Charlotte have recently released this photo of a collaboration that they have planned for retail release with Spitfire Wheels. If you’re unaware, Spitfire has been an industry leader for years. I love how one of the wheels in the pack is different. Very creative. We couldn’t be happier for our friends, as a collaboration like this has been a long time coming for what many would claim as the best skate shop on the east coast. Congrats Black Sheep!

Purge Raw

Purge ATL is a new online publication that actively publishes relevant content on Atlanta creative culture. Although it’s not a print publication, Purge is more in-touch with what’s really going than other Atlanta-centric news sources.

Anyway, the Purge team is hosting an art show opening tonight at Picaflor studio. I’ve personally met 4 of the 6 people in this art show, and they fully receive my support. One person in particular, Ryan James, has been a close friend of mine since 2000. We were skateboarding buddies, roommates, band mates, and we’ve been involved in more hi-jinx than you could imagine over the past 10 years. It’s his 1st art show ever and I’m urging everyone to come out.

Aleon Craft on Set

Recently, Dustin Chambers, Atlanta-based photographer and videographer, worked with Aleon Craft on a music video project. From the looks of it, it would have been a good time cruising around ATL in the Esperanzamobile. Aleon is pictured here wearing a collaboration tee that we worked on with Esperanza for Cinco de Mayo of this year. Can you still score one of these tees? For now, you’ll have to steal it from a friend who has one, or wait until next Cinco de Drinko.

Cherry Tomatoes!

If you’ve ever played foosball against us or one of our mates at The Local on Ponce de Leon, you’ve heard us exclaim, “Cherry Tomato!” whenever the time comes to play the newest, cleanest (and therefore fastest) ball of the lot. The resemblance to a cherry tomato (or bubblegum) is uncanny with these fresh foosballs. Our new set just arrived for the table at our studio. Be sure to stop by sometime and challenge us.

Has anyone seen or tried Espolón Tequila? I want to purchase this just for the illustration and packaging alone. What are your thoughts? Is it the jam, or just another well designed bottle (hopefully not endorsed by P. Diddy). As soon as I get my hands on a bottle, I’ll give a solid review. Peep the full packaging after the jump. Foos It Up

I found myself a foosball table, and it’s going to live at our studio. I already started “punking-it-up” with stickers from all our friends and fellow creatives. See if you can spot yours! If you’re ever around, send some stickers our way and I’ll continue to give our table more character. I think this calls for an impromptu tournament at one of our event tables really soon. Perhaps the tourney winner gets free gear from @WeAreTheProcess.
