The Dead Weather – Hang You From the Heavens
March 26th, 2009 by Larry

Jack White has another new band, The Dead Weather. Although it’s a similar sound to what you’d expect from Mr. White, it’s also different (at least on this track) because he’s playing drums! Alison Mosshart of the Kills, is the lead singer; Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age plays guitar; and Jack Lawrence, from the Raconteurs, is the bassist. If you’ve ever listened to the Kills, you’ll be familiar with the presentation of Hang You From the Heavens. I guess it remains to be seen if this is just another side-project, or if this is the future of Jack White’s musical endeavors. I can’t wait to hear the album that officially comes out on June 9th (it’ll probably hit the blogosphere way before that).

This guy’s got more side projects than L’il Wayne!
I like this alot better than the Raconteurs stuff I’ve heard…I don’t know if you’ve checked it out, but Dan Auerbach’s new solo stuff is pretty great too, especially if you’re digging this.
