Thanks to all our brand’s supporters for such an amazing year. In 2011, we found ourselves in Austin, TX showcasing We Are the Process at Style X, making new friends in Charleston, SC (we made 3 separate trips to #GrowTheBrand), fulfilling a lifelong dream of working with New Era, creating our 1st letterman jacket, and on your backs in countless cities throughout the world.
We couldn’t do what we do without you. As a thank you, we’ve discounted everything in the entire We Are the Process brand online store. This is the 1st time we’ve ever done anything this drastic. Quantities & sizes are limited, so take advantage of these mark downs as they’ll only last through December 31st.
Thanks again, and here’s to an awesome 2012!

Last week, I experienced Nike’s new SPARQ Sensory Performance innovations in action. I have no doubt in my mind that this new approach to vision training in conjunction with all other aspects of physical training will give an edge to the athletes who utilize these advancements. What’s most interesting is that vision training can be used by athletes of all levels to increase focus, reaction times & anticipation in any sport. I could rattle off a list of athletes off the top of my head that could use vision training immediately: Ahem… Josh Hamilton… Ahem…
SPARQ Sensory Performance is a system of technologies, products and programs designed to assess, analyze and improve an athlete’s visual and sensory performance. It’s another step in Nike’s nearly 40-year legacy of delivering game-changing innovations to help athletes perform at their peak.
“Sensory training is at the cornerstone of how we can build better athletes,” said Paul Winsper, SPARQ Performance Director. “With SSP we’re able to integrate both sensory and physical training together. This performance philosophy has resonated with some of the top athletes, teams and clubs throughout the world.”

In a world full of instant gratification, Liu Bolin of Beijing, China has to be one of the most patient visual artists the world has even seen. He has a painstaking process of painting himself with the aid of several assistants and capturing a photograph of himself blending into his environment. Not only is this process of converting himself into a human canvas very painstaking, but I’d imagine his deadlines are very tight, as sunlight and other variables could ultimately affect his final images. More images after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Jamie Hewlett, the visual artist behind the virtual group, Gorillaz, has designed a series of Gorillaz-themed prints for a Gorillaz Chuck Taylor All Star collection. Converse will be releasing the collection in February of 2012 which features 3 more designs which are yet to be revealed. Rumor has it that this collaboration has been in the works for over 10 years.
Gorillaz will release a new song for Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song” series, which recently included a collaboration between Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy, and Andrew W.K. The release of this song will coincide with the February release of the collection.
Gorillaz and Converse are hosting an launch event on December 1 featuring Gorillaz Sound System, a Gorillaz-endorsed audio-visual experience that includes music, live percussion, and projected visuals. The event will take place at 100 Club in London. I wanna go!
Gorillaz will release a new greatest-hits compilation, The Singles Collection, on November 29.

After watching episodes of Portlandia, I went into Beaker & Flask expecting a similar snooty approach to food. Yes, the food was prepared in a way that would startle a Southerner like myself (sarcasm), yet it wasn’t off-putting. Allow me to list the pros and cons of my Beaker & Flask experience: Read the rest of this entry »

The Nike Pro Combat Hyperwarm Shiled Mock maximizes breathability and warmth during harsh winter weather. The mock neck, body skimming fit and long-sleeves are designed so that athletes can layer this top under apparel.
I just tested one of these Nike Pro Combat Hyperwarm Shield Mocks in a 40 degree Beaverton, Oregon IN THE RAIN! One would think the Nike folks wouldn’t want to risk any negative product reviews while in the rain like today, but what would they have to fear? I stayed warm, dry, and flexible while throwing and catching footballs on the Bo Jackson Field. Read the rest of this entry »
