Estate LA’s Glass Case

June 12th, 2009 by Larry

process_estate_la_atl.jpg

Here’s a cool pic of our latest collaboration with Estate LA which is on sale now. The Estate crew has the caps behind a glass case, next to what appears to be a signed pair of Zoom Kobe IV’s. Fresh!

We woke up this morning to an overwhelming amount of online orders and I even saw a few people picking theirs up at Standard today. We only have 50 caps in Atlanta and 50 caps in Los Angeles. Make sure you grab yours before they’re gone.

Visit the PROCESS Online Boutique and get FREE SHIPPING (Domestic) for the month of June. You can’t beat that guys!

Photo Friday: Madonna in Sepia

June 12th, 2009 by Joe

madonna.jpg

What up world? This is Joe, filling in for Ross for this week’s Photo Friday. I came across this article a while back analyzing a photograph taken by Madonna’s publicity team as she goes through the process of adopting yet another Malawian baby. In a bid to make her attempted adoption look more romanticized, Madonna has created a bit of propaganda with the above photo. Martin Parr explains the motives behind converting the photo to sepia after the jump:

Chris Gets A Pair Of Tommies

June 11th, 2009 by Georgios

img_0488.jpg

So Chris decided to get his first tattoo the other day at Liberty Tattoo. He showed up to Gather Atlanta sporting a pair of Tommies on his arm. Larry and I had nothing to do with this. It’s not like we make our interns get branded or something. Chris just likes the Braves.

Guerilla B.B.Q.

June 10th, 2009 by Larry

A lil’ slice of Americana right here.

Last weekend, Georgios and Cory decided to get everyone together for a Guerilla B.B.Q. (basically a grill-out that’s planned on the fly). After securing all the gear from friends (I provided a propane tank and grill brush) we were ready to rock. We were lucky to have some great buddies come through, including Myk from DMN in Charlotte.

Check out some photos taken by Denys Meak after the jump.

Name:
Michael Habachy

Website:
habachydesigns.com

Where are you from?
Native of ATL…  Believe it!

Who do you work for?
I own an Interior Design Firm called Habachy Designs, Inc.

What are your Current Project(s)?
URUM Lounge in midtown which will be a super high glam space in a monochromatic GOLD color scheme. AU is the Latin symbol for gold.

We are working on the first modern house to get LEED Silver certification. The house is located off Barksdale in Ansley.  Here is the link: http://www.dwellmodern.com/leed.html

We are designing the ultimate Bachelor’s residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am also working on my personal residence which is probably the most challenging. I just have too many ideas and just not enough space to use them!

Who would you love to work with?
I would love to design a hotel for Ian Schrager who is the Boutique Hotel King!!!

If you had to give all your sneakers away to charity except for one pair, which ones would you keep?
Believe it or not, I am not much of a sneaker guy, so I would probably give all of mine to charity, and then go out and replace them with a pair of Black Label, Pumas.

What’s on your iPod right now?
M83

What’s your Favorite ATL food?
Too many to list! MF Sushi, Nuevo Laredo, JCT Kitchen, and the list goes on… We really have some great restaurants in Atlanta!

What’s your Favorite ATL hangout?
Beleeza

What are your Pet Peeves?
Clutter.

Shout outs?
To my senior designer, Evan Burton for being such a huge part of Habachy Designs!  Also, to all our clients for believing in us and giving us the opportunities to express our creativity an vision with their businesses.

Photo Friday: Greg Slater

June 5th, 2009 by Ross

wrenchfront-1-of-1.jpg

This week I worked for a very talented product photographer here in town by the name of Greg Slater. Slater specializes in product photography and is one talented dude when it comes to lighting. I mean, look at how interesting he can make a cup of coffee look! When I was back at Portfolio Center we had a still life class where we had to bring in images from photographers that we liked. I found a really interesting image of a wrench that I wanted to try and copy in my own special way. What I didn’t realize when I picked that image was that it was from Greg and that he was based here in Atlanta. Needless to say I was surprised when I checked his website after getting a call for work and realizing that he shot the wrench that I loved so much. Greg is a cool dude and has an amazing eye for lighting. I decided to share with everyone my version of the wrench still life. Its not nearly as good as Greg’s but I will admit it is cool to see the two side by side. If you’re looking for more of Greg’s work you can find more at his website .

On a small non-photo related note, LET’S GO MAGIC!
