Y’all know how I feel about the Yankees right? However, I can’t hate on the career milestone of 3,000 hits for Mr. Jeter or this classy tribute hat by the good folks at New Era.
It’s totally awesome when New Era takes an official on-field cap and adds a great commemorative logo for a special occasion… Yankees or not! I recently purchased a throwback Atlanta Braves fitted with the commemorative 1995 World Series patch and gray underbill. I wear it all the time. I’m still waiting on a throwback Hank Aaron cap of this same caliber. He’s #3 on the list with 3,771 career hits. Do you think Jeter will ever reach that milestone? How old will he be? Will he still be a Yankee? I hear the Mets are going to need a shortstop when Jose Reyes leaves. #JustSaying #LMAO #GoBraves

German design collective, inges idee, have created this wild basketball court at the Occupational School Center in Munich. From the looks of the photos, it’d be impossible to hold an actual 5-on-5 style game on this court, but perhaps an interesting game of H-O-R-S-E could ensue?
What do you guys think about this? Is this considered smart art? Or is it a waste of space and resources?
More photos and inges idee’s explanation of the court’s purpose after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Today I spent the afternoon with an old friend, Megan Huntz, of Megan Huntz Dresses. Over the past few years she has spent time producing her dresses in Italy and Barcelona, but has recently moved her business back to the USA. She has converted her Atlanta, GA home into a dress-making studio that I’ve decided to document here.
Her workspace is a true testament to her work ethic. She takes her craft seriously and she’s going to make moves. It’s great to have Megan back in ATL and I’m excited for the imminent success of her brand! Attention slackers: You can keep making excuses about not having resources handed to you, or you can make magic. Your call.
Check out the rest of Megan’s workspace after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Georgios and I constantly harp on the importance of sketching. It’s an essential step in the creative process, yet we encounter situations on a daily basis where people decide to skip the sketching step and jump right into the computer. What results from that horrible decision is usually garbage. I have no qualms about telling you to your face that you wasted everyone’s time by trying to save your own time by NOT SKETCHING IN THE FIRST PLACE. Ya dig?
Lots of “designers” just hack together novelty fonts and other crappy low-resolution images they find on Google for flyers and mixtapes. I can’t name many people I know that actually take the time to draw custom typefaces, illustrate, and take their own photos for their projects. The sad part is, I know even less people that recognize the power of hand done type!
For our recent work on Speakerfoxxx’s Dope Boy Anthems mixtape, I was tasked with coming up with a unique script to be knocked out of a photo of a dub cruiser. As you can see, I took pencil to paper first!
I’ve put together some before and after juxtapositions of some recent work after the jump. Fun stuff! Read the rest of this entry »

Not only is the July release of the LunarGlide 3+ one of the most anticipated drops of the year for performance-geeks and sneakerheads, but it has also just been made available on NikeiD. The good people at Swoosh have been giving the gift of customization on some great silhouettes this year! As if the LunarGlide 3+ iD isn’t enough, my favorite basketball shoe of the past year, the Zoom Hyperfuse Low, is also going to be iD-able starting the 6th of July. I need a third job so I can afford all these damn kicks!

Today we received Stranger Day’s beautifully-crafted press kit in the mail. As if hard copies of his Bar Stool Bounce EP weren’t cool enough, we received an assortment of stickers (not pictured), and a huge mason jar full of Stranger Day branded MOONSHINE! I took a swig straight out of the jar and I breathed hot lava for the next hour! We’re going to drop some peaches in this jar and keep it in our studio. We’ll belligerently force you to do shots of Stranger Day “Peach State” Moonshine with us if you visit! Fair warning!

We’d like to introduce our intern for the summer, Eden Weingart. Unlike most of our recent applicants, she was able to successfully navigate our extensive internship application. Although some of her sports-related answers weren’t exactly what we were looking for (she’s a Yankee fan), her talents outweighed our fanatical bias.
She studies Communication Design at Carnegie Mellon University, is a recent recipient of the Design Merit Award on campus, and is the PR director of the on-campus radio station WRCT. She’ll be our resident indie-rocker for the summer, learning about web design, and helping us devise a smarter inventory system for our back stock of We Are the Process items. Also, you may have noticed some of our recent music reviews were written by her. Wish her well, and leave her a nice comment!

Most people who know me know that I’m a total sports junkie and I’ve been completely engrossed with baseball this summer. This is what my workstation currently looks like. I’ll design on my large monitor and stream baseball games on my extra screen. I don’t see much of the in-game action, but I’ve found that I enjoy listening to people talk about strategy more than spinning the latest indie rock jams. What’s wrong with me?!?
Holler at me if you’re an obsessed fan too! I’m always down for catching an Atlanta Braves game and I’d gladly welcome any advice in regards to my fantasy team. No joke, this MLB.TV package has been the best $99 I’ve ever spent.
