Despite it being Memorial Day Weekend, the scene at our studio was bustling with life on Saturday. EC resident photographer, Jorge Menes, was working on set for client, Megan Huntz Dresses. Jorge has worked with Megan on her lookbooks since the beginning of her line several years back. The shots always take my breath away, and I have no doubt that they’ll do the same this time around.
Keep an eye out for a post from Jorge in the coming weeks as he turns the imagery from this weekend into finished lookbook-worthy shots. If we’re lucky, he’ll walk us through the “process”.
Check out a few more behind-the-scenes photos by yours truly after the jump.

Welcome to East Point! We’ve recently moved our studio space (again) to the origins of the world-famous Outkast. Despite the props from everyone as a result of our recent Vimby.com studio tour and interview, the time felt right for the move. We haven’t completely finished unpacking, but we wanted to show off the new spot that we’ve already dubbed, The Treehouse, due to it’s intentionally unfinished interior.

Let me start off by saying “Thank You” to everyone who came out to any (or all) of our PROCESS Launch Circuit events last Friday night. We can’t begin to describe how loved we feel based on everyone’s continued support. I’ll post pictures from the night as they arrive from our photographers.
I spent a majority of the final week of production tying up loose ends, getting inventory set up for the online store (which is LIVE at wearetheprocess.com), and camping out at our downtown ATL studio. The picture above is a birds-eye view of the coffee table next to the studio couch that I lived on last week. As you can see, I stayed hydrated, caffeinated, entertained, and very busy at the same time… was it worth it? Would I do it all over again? Yes and yes.

Our downtown Atlanta studio was bustling this morning, as everyone on team EC was finally in one place to meet and discuss the launch of our PROCESS line and our studio goals for 2009. It feels good to shed that holiday weight and get back to work.

European-based clothing designer and friend of EC, Megan Huntz, stopped by the studio friday for some help with updates to her website. We incorporated some beautiful shots of girls wearing Megan’s handmade dresses taken by EC’s Jorge Menes in Barcelona, Spain this past summer. Megan just wrapped-up with a special holiday clothing sale at Atlanta’s Center for Design Study and is prepping for continued work on her dress line in 2009. Her items are carried in multiple boutiques in Italy and Spain, check her website for more information and store names. Being in the holiday spirit, Megan left sporting an I Bike ATL shirt courtesy of yours truly.
While she was here, I asked Megan if she had any ideas for a conceptual sweatshirt for me. Something I could ride a bike in. I have some ideas and am ready to create. Now just to find someone with a sewing machine state-side…

We recently took on a small identity/merch project for NY-based singer/songwriter Will McCranie. This afternoon, we received proofs of a simple one-color graphic tee design based on an illustration by Georgios. It’s nice to get back to our roots every once in awhile and have some fun with limited-run pieces that have heart and soul.

Today, we re-appropriated The Wall to review some logos that Georgios and I have been jamming on for the past few days. Thanks to everyone who has sent in funny, inspiring, and seizure-causing animated GIFs via The Wall. This project has been so fun for us over the past couple months and we’d love you keep it alive by emailing your images to .

This weekend, the Viva Studio crew came by our new studio for another screen-printing party. All kinds of materials came out of the woodwork as we were asked to print on blank tees, bags, and even a blazer. Check out the photoset by Josh Tuminella after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Thanks to the Nite Ratz DJ crew (Cristo Disco, Prince Presto, & Slugger) for coming to our side of town the other day to sit for our friend Joe Martinez. Joe is in his final quarter at Portfolio Center, and is one of the finer portrait photographers I’ve seen around. I’ll post the final images when Joe drops them by our studio. I’m sure his work will easily put my digital camera shots to shame.
